Good video. Whats the normal temperature 1. After liner 2. After cylinder head 3. After exhaust valve
@steffandall57854 жыл бұрын
That depends on the pressure in the pipes. The higher the pressure the the higher boiling point. 1. After Liner can for some engines be up to 130degC 2. After Cylinder Head can for som engines be up to 85degC 3. Depends on the engine load - if the load is high the temeprature is low. Hope it helped.

Thanks very good explanation...i would like to ask you a question about the pumps..you said that when the engine is stoped we close jacket pump and start fw circ pump ...this procedure is in all merchant ships ? I'm gonna embark on a bulk carrier and i would like to know. There are always circ pumps for that reason or in some ships we use only jacket pumps ?? I will appreciate your answer thanks !!!
@marineinsight4 жыл бұрын
All foreign going ships are fitted with small circulation pump. This is done to reduce the power consumption (as jacket water will consume more power) and hence the fuel consumption of the auxiliary engine.
@shahrozfareed99014 жыл бұрын
@@marineinsight agreed.
@makinistangmandaragattv55603 жыл бұрын
@@marineinsight In addition to that, hence main engine is stop no need much HT pressure for cooling the cylinder liner,head, exhaust valve etc...only to provide heating to prevent thermal shock and prevent jacket cooling water leakage.

Sir can we use the system without a daerator??..nd what is the principle of deartion?
@kryptonian13713 жыл бұрын
Deaerator is used to remove trapped air bubbles from the circulating water in order to avoid pressure fluctuations (which in turn could cause damage to the pipe lines). So no, it is not advisable to NOT use Deaerator.

Difference between liner and jacket??
@marineinsight4 жыл бұрын
Liner is the cylinder which forms the part of combustion chamber in which piston moves. Jacket is a part of entablature, covering the liner to provide cooling water passage 👍🏻

What happens to the heated "sea water" after it leaves the "Sea Water Cooler"? The heated sea water is expelled back into the sea. As wiki says: "At any given moment there are 50,000 merchant ships crossing the worlds oceans. The heat from the cooling systems of these ships on the oceans of the world is what is really causing climate change, heat wave and drought.
