LB7 Duramax-Powered 1970 Chevelle

There aren't many diesel-powered vehicles that show up to drag-and-drive events, but when they do, they're usually awesome! Case in point is Rick Fletes' Chevelle, which is powered by a custom-built LB7 Duramax engine. We got the details from Rick as he waited in the staging lanes for his first pass of Sick Week 2023.

Thought he said it gets 30 mpg rolling down the Highway. Not sure how correct that is, cause he got Way more Fuel and Turbo than my Diesel, and i can't get 30 mpg on Highway.

I dont. These engines are capable. Bro my diesel group on BMW 335D m57 engines are 3.0. We are making 750 HP and 1100 ft lbs on a 3.0 engine so you tell me. Lol.

@@jessew956unless you are lying about them…i don’t care about that though. I am wondering however, 1500-1800hp with all kinds of socal goodies, but a factory crankshaft… You mean to tell me you wouldn’t even use a compstar crank. One of those is false, either 1500hp or the factory crank…

Thousands of factory cranks snap in the number one journal with stock engines or just a tuner. To wrap this up, socal won’t even build a duramax with a factory crank. You want their phone number? 1,800hp with a factory crank, you are either stupid or lying

We hear you Rick. We always try to get race footage, but unfortunately, we can't be in all places at once to capture stuff in the pits and on the track, so we never got footage of Rick making a pass. He also exited Sick Week early, so we couldn't see him run on subsequent days.
