If you were going this route I would definitely consider at least a fluid damper. Relatively easy install and it will prevent a broken crank. Also, some tierod ends & traction bars. A 2017 oil cooler ain't a bad idea either & a tigged water pump from merchant automotive.

You need to do some research that wont get you 500 to the wheels and the FIRST thing on any duramax for longevity is ALWAYS a lift pump

Agreed on the lift pump. Plenty of dyno results around the 500whp mark with intake, exhaust, lift pump, some trans upgrades and tuning. Sure, it is a max effort tune so not the safest to run consistently but these mods can get you there.

my homie lly made 551 with downpipe, 5in exhaust , intake , 60% nozzles and 68mm kbd turbo .. stock engines/trans

@@bullettclubb7934 yeah I've heard that a million times until they end up in my shop with blown head gaskets and bad stock transmissions sure you can get away with it for a little while with a stupid amount of fuel but it will not live the stock turbo can't handle anymore that 550 max after that mark it's EGT city but hey what do I know I've only been in the diesel field for 15 years also I doubt your buddy had a Dyno sheet 90% of people just believe the tuner when they tell them "it's a 250hp over stock tune "

@@haydendenard2693I completely agree. My old LB7 laid 481 to the wheels in 4th torque converter locked. It lasted a little while before clutch packs welded together. At 250k it needed a transmission, head gaskets, and a turbo. An LB7 is good for 400hp if a guy wants longevity. After that, time to empty your pockets because you’re talking thousands to make it last and actually make that power safely. But hey, I only speak from experience like you so what do we know. This videos advice will keep shops like yourself in work!

It’s pinched flat and has a horrible radius so no, not ideal.

the stock pump wont support 30% injectors at higher rpm and especially not 200k mile one fyi i got 30s 68mm turb and trans tuning and short pulse with so had to goto ii 42% over cp3

A - If you get upgraded connecting rods, it can hold 650

A stronger clutch is all the zf6 needs ever. That zf6 will hold more power than the Duramax can make without snapping the crankshaft.

Haha the 6.0 is decent for power once you've addressed all the problems with it but the Duramax's are pretty solid for just bolt-on gains.

I have a 05 2500 lly with efi live lift pump turbo upgrade built trans with 35s on 20x10 and she lights up fairly good for what it is nothing done to the motor yet. We dyno it at 760hp injectors definitely coming soon lol. By far the most reliable truck I’ve owed diesel wise and power
