I must admit, I'm a slow learner. Just seeing all this makes me wonder whether I should do engineering or not. Despite this problem, I never give up getting the answer. I remember in class all my friends used to finish an exercise and memorize everything to it. I would have to literally do the exercise 3 times over to feel confident. I'm pretty scared to get started with engineering ...
@bleachfan17810 жыл бұрын
I feel the same way. I'm a senior in high school. Currently talking AP European History. It's very demanding and hard. And all that requires is memorization. I never took calculus or physics. and I'm gonna go to community college next year and going to major in Mechanical engineering and then transfer to a 4 year college to get my bachelor degree in mechanical engineering. I don't have a Plan B so I'll be screwed if Engineering becomes over the top Hard. Like ... Insane difficulty. Although I will give it my all and I'm probably gonna have to get a tutor if it really means that much to me.
@topsui10 жыл бұрын
Google keep asking me to change my name. sooo annoying. Yeah it's good to have a plan B so fall back on. My plan B was to change degrees, and guess what, I did. I'm now doing a Bachelor of Applied Finance which I think is more suitable for me. I was struggling with math even with a tutor. I couldn't imagine struggling on for 4 more years. Like I said, I think something in the business sector is more suitable for me. It just depends how you cope with all the science and math. Everyones different. Some ppl are just good at consuming in all the information, and some need loads of practice until they understand (me). Good luck :)

+Google keep asking me to change my name. sooo annoying. Community college will be an encouraging experience that will build up your hopes, then you will transfer to a university that seems hell bent on crushing those dreams/hopes and making you question yourself. (Just my experience) but it seems to be a commonly shared feeling by many of the students I talk to.

Undergrad engineering difficulty >> undergrad math difficulty for me personally. Again for me personally... but the math by comparison is almost trivially easy. Show a board with a 7 sentence long problem statement with 5 parts, and where none of your given values can satisfy any equation you learned in class and you have no idea how to find the values you don't have... the kind of problem that takes 6 hours... that's why engineering is hard.

Well those Advance engineering formulas and differential equations formula which is the combination of integral and differential calculus isn't that hard, if you just practice it always, and learn how parts work, and the algorithm of it, you'll do just fine.

It's not much calculus in there.... Mostly algebra and arithmetics. I see some logarithms in there, but if lamda is a constant, they are not logarithmic functions, which would be calculus...
@535Sandro12 жыл бұрын
yea I agree. There is alot of algebra but its not that hard. If u know the method and do alot of practice, its won't be that hard. These people are just trying to scare us and persuade us not enter this field but I say... If u like this major go for it and dont listen to any of these idiots.

You don't have to be a genius to be an engineer. You'll just have to work your ass off. I'm a C average student in terms of math, but made it through with better grades in programming, physics, and chemistry. Just study hard, and get used to drinking energy drinks at 0300 in the morning ;)
