Hellooo! I love your explanation. Its easier to understand. I wanted to ask.... How do you determine the phase by using the quality? Is there any specific range that we can refer to determine the phase?
@engineeringdeciphered
@engineeringdeciphered 3 жыл бұрын
If it has any quality at all between 0 and 1 then the phase is a mixture. Some of my other videos in my thermo playlist might be helpful in looking at other phases.

Hi, great video. at 11.40. you said 1000kPa is 0.1Mpa. Is this correct? I thought it was 1MPa as 1000x10^3 is 1x10^6? I am slightly confused on that matter. Thanks!

For the refrigerant 134 a- if we have been given both temperature and pressure and we have to find specific volume and description of phase, but at the required temperature say -8 degree celsius, the pressure we have is greater than that on the property table, which would mean that it is a compressed refrigerant. There is no compressed table for refrigerants. What to do in this case? Please explain.
@engineeringdeciphered
@engineeringdeciphered 4 жыл бұрын
Take the temperature given (not the pressure) and assume it is a saturated liquid at that temp. You are right it is a compressed liquid but with no compressed liquid tables just estimate its properties as those of a saturated liquid at the given temperature.

for part (d) why did you assume the 'u' value is the same as the 'uf' ?
@Violet-qn7db
@Violet-qn7db 3 ай бұрын
Because we already found that it’s a saturated liquid, so we only need the uf ( which is for the saturated liquid). I know it’s too late😭🙏🏻

Hello sir Thank you so much for your simple explanation❤. Just a question for the last part (e) why didn't we consider it compressed liquid what did the x = 0 let us think? because solving it as compressed liquid then making interpolation in the sat liquid table we could get a very close answer.

Thank you so much for the great lesson, sir. I now have a better understanding of the topic. I do have a doubt though. In the case of question (d), because we could not find the pressure in the compressed liquid table, we assumed that u is approximately u of liquid at the given temperature. So, we go to the saturated water table showing the list of temperatures and look for the corresponding u. What do we do if we cannot find the temperature in that list? I.e. the temperature given is a negative temperature which is not available in that table.
@darshiniikrishnan615
@darshiniikrishnan615 2 жыл бұрын
Also...this question is not related to the one above. What do I do if the temperature given in the question is too high, that is...it's not listed in the water table. only the high temperature and v are given.

In part b my table does not have 125. It goes from 120 to 130 directly, so what i did is that i found 1600 to be in range in the 120 and in the 130 so i knew it was a mixture. Then i did interpolation 3 times to find Uf and Ug and pressure for 125. Is that correct. Than you.

if given T = 124 C how we find the Vg and Pressure ?
@engineeringdeciphered
@engineeringdeciphered 4 жыл бұрын
To find Vg you would interpolate between the Vg value at 120 and the Vg value at 125. You need more info to find pressure - if it is a sat liq, sat vap, or sat mix then the pressure would be Psat. So you’d interpolate between the Psat at 120 and the Psat at 125. Does that help?
