It was such a fresh new story. Its so interesting. Like it could almost be real. The concepts have so much potential. For someone who "knows in e.t. life" it was something I've been waiting for. If they would've went with the original ideas and concepts for Prometheus and really leaned into it, I believe it could've been the best sci-fi film. Im hoping the new Alvarez film does incredible in theaters so they get motivated and return to these 2 films. But staying away from the zenomorphs as much as possible. So its not a horror film but a sci-fi film. Just really doing a storyline completely on the Engineers. Even better would be a series instead of a film. If only lol

Prometheus is very good, but knowing what we know now, it could have been one of the best movies ever made. Covenant, on the other hand, had some curious decent concepts about David, but because of studio pressure we received a bad Alien film. It was so far removed from what Prometheus started it was a shock upon first watch. It became predictable. Making David the creator of the Xenomorph was an awful idea. It doesn’t continue the story the lovers of Prometheus deserved.

Its funny because i explained to my wife that i was taught in catholic school that one of the first reasons people within his town believed jesus to be the son of god was because he was a baby for merely days, a child for merely weeks, and then he was all of the sudden an adult. This showed them that he was different. The very next day we both watched prometheus for the first time, and because i had just told her that, she immediately made the connection within the movie.

Pseudo-science topics often make great movie plots. Just look at Indiana Jones. It's perfectly fine and OK to have arks, cups of christ, and magical stones but heaven forbid we see a UFO.... sheesh. But yes there actually is an explanation for his disappearance, but it's written by an ancient civilization and they NEVER wasted all that time carving these stories into stone just for make believe stories of gods and dragons and stuff. No sarcasm as I'm not kidding. You probably won't believe it but if you take the entire story and plot line it fills in so many holes and makes so much more sense than what is taught today. I'll accept it for now, but I still don't quite buy into the monkey - human explanation simply because there are STILL monkeys and shit. Humans actually are the only species on Earth that really don't fit in...

A creature that is the top of the line killer in all the universe is basically killed off by Home Alone traps. The Alien movie's prior to the new one were terrible as well for similar reasons. Disney's Star Wars movie's have managed to do the impossible too. That being taking a franchise that is literally a license to print money as long as the plots were believable and the acting not wooden and running it into apathy. I don't like them. Prometheus and Covenant set up a point that seemingly nobody has picked up upon. The 'Engineers' are based upon the ancient myth of the Annunaki, whom were giants from another planet that created humans by accelerating the evolution of apes and infusing it with their own DNA. This is evident from the fact that in Prometheus, the humans have the same DNA as the 'engineers'. The story we seen in Prometheus - and partially in Covenant - are a very modern and re-fitted imagination of the Epic of Gilgamesh, mixed with other ancient lore. The Epic of Gilgamesh is about the hero, Gilgamesh, his companion, Enkidu, and Gilgamesh's quest to find fame and immortality. Along the way, they encounter otherworldly individuals and complete several impressive feats that anger the gods. In this case, Weyland, essentially, is Gilgamesh, and Enkidu, is David. In the mythology, there were the igigi, young beings of the 'annunaki', that rebelled against them. as a result, they created humans, in order to do their labor and work. Enlil wanted a slave race of beings and insisted on placing a worship gene within humans.This is exactly what Weyland also wanted and built, and created a 'worship gene' within his creation - david. That very much became clear in 'Covenant', where he ordered David to make him tea, and he could not resist. It set the stage. In this case, Weyland also was Enlil. Enlil appointed Enki in actually 'making' the humans. Enki put the essence of the annunaki and aswell gave man a soul, he wanted humanity to be superior to the annunaki. Weyland claims David does not have a soul. It seems however, this is not entirely true from the way covenant also goes down. He is clearly not like the other 'robotic' drone androids. The exact fate of the Igigi after the creation of humans can vary depending on the specific Mesopotamian myth or text being referenced. In some accounts, the Igigi were banished to the underworld or were forced to live in a separate realm apart from the affairs of humans and the higher-ranking gods. another aspect is about Marduk's anger Marduk, the Enlil of the gods, got angry. His mind became furious. He made an evil plan to disperse the land and its peoples.His angry heart was bent on leveling the land and destroying its people. A grievous curse formed in his mouth.Evil portents indicating the disruption of heavenly harmony. This is clearly what David 'became'. Now, obviously it doesnt follow the story to the letter, but it takes a whole bunch of elements, mixes and fuses it to create it's own story. This is what religion has done too, the Noah story is a literal steal from the Epic of Gilgamesh and the flood. There is also a lot of Christian and Judaic lore in the movie too. The 'jesus messiah and Armageddon in particular. There is a hint towards Jesus, as there is a claim that the 'engineers' wanted to go to Earth 2000 years before. Mostly however, it might revolve around the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 by the Romans. It's interesting that the planet Shaw and David go to, had very clear Roman-esque design, btw. But regarding to the Armageddon lore, there is a text in the bible (revelations) saying : let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: It is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred and threescore and six (666). Ridley scott very much spoke about the Alien as 'the beast'. that people wanted to see 'the beast' (covenant). The 'xeno' is based upon human infection, making it the result of human 'a human number'. David, was supposedly an ancient king, a king that would slay down the giant Goliath. There is a clear link here too, even though ironically, it was Goliath that took David's head in 'prometheus'. At the same time, when everybody was scared of Goliath, David (supposedly) stood up against the tyrant, which is essentilally what we see in both Prometheus and Covenant. David was a man of bloodshed, easily angered, and obsessed with a 'god complex'. He also committed adultery and murdered the husband of his 'lover'. David, in prometheus, 'fell in love' with Elizabeth Shaw, and killed her husband by putting him 'in the frontline' - he knew he'd die by his actions ( the black goo ). Indirectly, David impregnated shaw creating 'their' offspring. David caused a child with Bathsheba, but the child was cursed. Shaw's child, was clearly 'cursed'. Just like shaw decided to stay with david, bathsheba stayed with david, despite being responsible for the death of the husband, their true love. David later had other children with Bathsheba, one of them became king solomon, who was 'wise' and had thousands of wives. David killed and used the corpse of Shaw to create 'his offspring', the 'beast', the 'xeno', which could produce thousands of offspring (thanks to the covenant ship). Matter of fact, david took control of the covenant in the jewish lore. in the movie, david, in the end, takes control of the covenant. in the story of prometheus, prometheus supposedly was a hero that stole fire from the gods and brought it to mankind. this essentially is a metaphor of bringing 'knowledge' and 'wisdom' or 'intelligence' from the gods to man. that's essentially the same we see over and over again regarding lucifer, but also in the annunaki and other stories. As a punishment, prometheus, the titan, would have his liver eaten out by an eagle, alive, and die, and be ressurrected every day. in his 'ted talk', Peter weyland claims, that since they can create 'artificial life' ( the androids ), 'they are the gods now'. If you then finally analyze every story in history, it's essentially all every time a copy-paste and repeat. That's essentially what the whole lore seems to e about. The annunaki also had creators. Simply put, the engineers, are not the creators. That much became clear in Prometheus too. They are simply 'creations' that made their own 'creations' : mankind. And mankind created another creation : Artificial beings ( androids , artificial intelligence ). The artificial beings themselves also try to repeat that and create their own offspring : david tries to recreate the aliens. every time, the 'offspring' rebel against their masters.

Do you think there is a single all powerful and all knowing infinite deity like God/Jesus in this alien universe?
@manoahvanderwolf32593 ай бұрын
@@jdfoster23 regarding how much mythology is implemented into the alien universe, which also includes the 'blade runner' movie(s) AND the predator franchise (supposedly), and Weyland's comment 'i refuse to believe we are the byproduct of random chance and accidents', one would have to lean towards 'something' in that direction, somehow. that said, the mythology also is set up very grounded. though very dark in atmosphere (that goes for blade runner aswell), one would also have to note that there should obviously also be a side we never saw, and likely never get to see, which is very 'light'. the alien universe (including blade runner) are very much thriller-noir-horror. so there's no room for anything else. still, going to the 'lighter' side, there are elements of that. The including of the cat, and that the cat survives and has a good life. Bishop and Walter meaning well. The (mistaken) human concept of good vs evil like there is some 'super good god-being' and some 'super evil god-being' of religious mythology is present in the real life. since clearly the myhtology is based upon that, it's reasonable that there will be some 'lore' there too. what 'kind' of 'being' or 'OG being' that is, and whether that is even something capable of portraying or imagining is another story though.

People complained so much about no alien that we didnt get a end to the Engineers story. I would have taken this over seeing a movie based off of the Xenomorph again. People hate change

David Adair speaks about his experience of a conscious organic ship. The Dr Michael Salla interviews are quite remarkable. The xenomorph turning into a mountain is reflective of many legends of beings turned into mountains, not least at Mt Abu, India. In fact, pareidolia apart, many mountains depict eroded faces still visible all over the world. I hope this helps. Gratitude.

Glad to see people are warming up to the Engineers being part of the Alien universe. I'm a big Alien 1979 fanboy, but I loved Prometheus from the start. Nice see the shift. Glad you released one big video Kroft. Much appreciated 🎉🎉🎉

The engineer is at the beginning of Alien, of course they are part of the Alien universe

@@06mrselfdestruct It might come as a suprice to you, but not everyone likes the Engineer being "human". When you look back at some forum from 2012 arround the time when the movie was released you can easily see that.

Can you do a video specifically on the anatomy of Xenomorphs? I want to know how they developed with mechanical attributes? They seem to have pipes and tubes along their face, metal teeth, etc. How did these evolve?
@apokatastasian28313 ай бұрын
my head canon is that they have an internal pressure bladder, and a series of valves, so they have hydraulics instead of muscle fibers thats why their blood is so acidic because it's basically space-void proof antifreeze hydraulic fluid.
@jays77613 ай бұрын
@@apokatastasian2831 I'm not asking what they have... I'm asking why. How did organic creatures develop mechanical body parts?
@MikeTall882 ай бұрын
You don't think your shoulder or elbow is mechanical in the same sense.
@jays77612 ай бұрын
@@MikeTall88 You are correct, I do not think that. Or was that a question and you just forgot the punctuation? Please google the definition of the word "mechanical" if you think you have that in your body.
@Azor_Ahai0312 ай бұрын
@@jays7761 lol, you're not getting a why, the "why" is part of the mystery. answering that inherent question removes from the awe and mystery surrounding the "why". part of why (lol) the alien is so strange is because it has parts that doesn't resemble any other organism we know of on Earth.

WHY DID THEY NOT GO INTO THE ENGINEERS STORY > EXPAND >> NO THEY PUT OUT A LESS THAN MOVIE !
@kloassie3 ай бұрын
Ehm ... Ackghtually, the LV22:3 translation says that *_"If_*_ the offerings (by the Israelites) are touched (by the descendants of Aaron, a.k.a. the priests) _*_while_*_ (that priest) being unclean (sick or unwashed or deviled) _*_then_*_ that person (the priest) must be 'separated' (fired from priesthood/banished from society)"_ . So not that the touching itself turns the priest unclean. That would be kinda ridiculous, as the offerings were demanded (by god) to serve as meals for the priests. If they wouldn't be allowed to touch these offerings at all then the priests wouldn't be allowed to eat, meaning that the priests all would've st4rv3d to d34th after a few weeks

As some have said here I think the continuing interest in this subject is its close relationship to mankind’s own meditations on origins. What’s fascinating is that Prometheus lore doesn’t necessarily conflict with even Western civilization’s own religious beliefs. The Engineers comments to David even strongly imply Christs presence on Earth beginning with the Immaculate Conception. Mind blowing
@DeeSee252 ай бұрын
Thanks for keeping up Prometheus lore. I think this movie had its issues, but i think it had so much potential. Even the seeds left behind gave us new questions to ponder and new universes to explore
