Watkins is such an easy fix to our setup; it’s about his play-style, not who the “better striker” is. The Swiss defense would have been 5+ yards further back as they’d be constantly worried about the run-in behind, which gives our midfield more space to operate.

France has gone under the same level of scrutiny that England has because of their rubbish performances somehow scraping through the latter stages. The difference is, what they're doing against Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands & Austria, England is doing against Switzerland, Slovakia, Serbia & Slovenia. And unlike Southgate, Deschamps has track record of beating top teams in knockouts and winning tournaments, so although he's also getting violated in french media, he deserves more leeway than Southgate, who's main strenght is his uncanny ability to get the easiest draw possible in every tournament, where the individual brilliance of his players can cover up his managerial ineptitude. So no, until he actually beats a top team (which starts now with Netherlands, Spain or France coming up), he shouldnt be given any "result over performance" garbage excuse for his incompetence...

Why all the talk about Toney? What about Watkins? The guy scored 19 goals for Villa in the EPL and none of those were penalties. Kane needs to sit out the semi-final. Foden has been really poor too, drop him for Palmer.

If you rewatch that game there are multiple key moments that foden mad poor poor decision. Every set piece he took was bad but it was two moment in particular where he attempted a pass and shot via overhead kick and they were really good opportunities. I though foden had a good 15 minutes and a great pass to Saka but was awful for the rest

Kane has to be dropped. Foden higher marks than Rice ? Foden runs about a lot but what has he actually contributed ? He is constantly chasing after the ball like a 5 year old. No end product.

Foden has been terrible and if we are being honest Jude Bellingham is a prime Dele Ali . Yes he will score the ocassional goal but is he a midfielder or an attacker , he unbalances the team . Tyrick Mitchell was available why not carry him along if you needed a left back . Kyle Walker has player 3 stinkers in a row and somehow gets picked ahead of Trent .lol. The less said about Harry Kane the better , he needs to go and rest . Lastly Southgate you cant fault a winning manager but by God this is terrible football. Individual brilliance has bailed him out again and again.

That makes no sense at all compare Jude’s stats to Dele Ali’s and look at his overall stats ppl just like to hate on Jude because it seems like the thing to do, he helped Madrid to laliga and champions league and won pots in laliga and had done so in bundesliga as well the best start to a season in Madrid since Ronaldo. Plus he doesn’t hide from the big moments taking penalties when others hide away. Mbappe has only scored 1 goal this whole tournament Jude has 3 if you include the penalty.

@@m1234cars This is the problem these days its all about stats . I judge by what i am watching . LEts be honest apart from the wonder goal , kindly evaluate Jude's performances in games . I like the player but we have a knack for overhyping our own .Lastly i think you never saw Dele in his prime very similar with Ramsey as well they could pull of anything . Lampard is a legend but would you say he is a better midfielder than Fabregas ?Same applies to Jude he is a midfielder who is an attacker .

You're talking out of your 4ss, Rory. Rice had the 2nd best mark 7.9/10 to Saka's 8.4/10 in the match, the next was like 7.4/10. He had that superb shot in extra time, been more dangerous than Bellingham while he's not an attacking midfielder. 2nd time in a row, the post shot agaibst Slovakia when Bellingham was useless again with shots from outside the box, you forgot about that?🙄 PS: Toney is better than Kane.

That was 5 Cool-Cats who took those PENs. Quality finally came through and told for ENG. Maybe, just maybe after blundering through thus far, they, and I mean the players will rise to the occassion and through off the 'Southgate Shackles' and do what they are well capable in doing, win it! They should get beat a below par for their normal standards, Holland, then one game in Berlin to do a reverse Euro 96, where Germany won it in London.
