Why won't people understand that the number of fingers of beer 'head' is directly related to the method of pouring. Anybody can create a second finger of head by pouring BADLY. You really don't need froth up your bugle to taste beer properly.

Seems like there needs to be a Victoria Malaga soft water vs Korev soft water penalty shootout! Been drinking the Victoria Malaga through the last round and it’s really up there as a 4.8% hangover free all day drinker. May have to try the Korev after I polish off the last bottles of Victoria!

mahou is pronounced 'mao' like chairman mao. there's 2 different versions of it, one has a green label, and the other is the one you have, the red labelled 'cinco estrellas' or '5 stars' we served it on tap when i lived in spain, and honestly, when it's draught, it's dynamite!! we also served the estrella galicia bottled. at the time, the mahou was 2 euro a pint, and the galicia was only 1.25euro for a 330ml bottle. both were exceptional thirst quenchers in the costa del sol summer heat

I found the Estrella Galicia a touch caramely after a few compared to Estrella Damm - I prefer the Damm, so I'd probably prefer the Korev. Not sure I've had that one yet!

I was buying maho and enjoying it untill they cut the size from 660 to 500 ml. At the same price. I stopped buying it at that point. Good but not at that price quantity point. Recomed you try keo. Cyprus beer. Found it first on zakynthos a bar called the mermaid in alykes. From memory much better than the bottle but even so the bottle is imported. Well worth it. If you tried it allready apologies.

Alhambra reserva is great Spanish lager but you may have to buy online not seen it sold at major supermarkets so is Alhambra especial couldn't believe how good these were on holiday in Andalucia. Cruzcampo has a lot of glucose syrup in, so wasnt as keen on that but it's ok when things get very hot (not often in the UK at the moment). Anyway "come on England" although Spain seemed to have played better so far.

Just tried camden hells 330ml can and it's not worth the money. In fact it left me with a cleaner glass than I started with. Head disappeared within 30 sec. Flat after less than 1 min. 2- 1 Spain

I have been drinking mahou for over 20 years and buy the bottles that are brewed and bottled and imported from Spain the 330 mill bottles are brewed and bottled and imported from Spain but the 500 mill is brewed in Spain but bottled in uk to me the taste is not as good when it’s sent to be bottled is it in a liquid form or just the ingredients and using English water?

I commented the other week that in Home Bargains they are selling Mahou 600ml bottles and the ABV is 5.1 where as cans or smaller bottles it's 4.8. So as it states on the lower ABV cans/bottles brewed in Madrid then bottled in the UK, are they making it weaker for the UK market, where as the big bottles I purchased says brewed and bottled in Madrid.

A few weeks back I managed to pick up some 5.1% Mahou from Home Bargains in the 600+ml bottle. Very much enjoyed. But they’re not stocking it anymore and seem to be stocking the 4.8% version in the smaller bottle (as are a few big supermarkets). Clearly they’ve messed with the recipe to cater for the UK market despite it still being brewed in Spain. I wonder if the addition of maize is part of that. Do they think we like our ‘Spanish’ beers sweet like San Miguel?? (which is vile). I’ve not tried the 4.8 Mahou and now I’m not sure I want to. It’ll be brewed in UK soon enough probably. Either way Simon loved it the other day and now decides he doesn’t. Wtf?

It's all about opinions and what your tastebuds like. I LOVE Mahou and this is my drink in Spain, and the Estrella Galicia is horrible. I was with friends and we dived into a pub we don't normally go in for a quick beer and my pall came back with the Galicia and not one of us could finish our drinks.

Not really a fair comparison, Mahou and Estrella Galicia are ordinary beers from regional brewers, there are far better beers available in Spanish supermarkets. Would make a great video if you pop over and review a few.

The problem here is Simon is that both the Spanish lagers , although breed in Spain are brewed for the UK market . Mahou , until recently was 5.1% in the UK and probably stronger in Spain and Estrella is 4.7% here but I believe is 5.5% in Spain so really are you comparing genuine Spanish lagers to UK brewed ? I am so fed up of these companies doing us out of the real deal…. But I still enjoyed watching the review so keep up the good work

Simon, don't take this as a personal attack as I always enjoy watching your videos despite not always agreeing with them. Korev first...tried this on a bar boat in Bristol and really enjoyed it, very very nice. Camden Hells, please stop referring to this as a a goood example of a German style helles, it's nowhere near any Helles i've ever had and certainly nowhere near a challenger for the beers you review regularly. Mahou you were salivating over recently, estrella galicia is also another belter over the other two. You never once mentioned maize, syrupy, cheap tasting when you were giving it big licks about Mahou before. I'm guessing you were just wanting to do a wee C'mon England video but Camden Hells coming out on top over a Haufbrauhaus beer the other day and Korev beating Estrella Galicia. My God man, up your game 😂 Ratings for you are a little all over the place just now. I live on the Cornwall/Devon border and Korev is in most pubs. I can't stand it. It's everything I hate in lager - like Camden it has that nod to the fashionable but rancid craft beers without quite going all in. Give me a mass produced continental lager all day long.
