We actually spent almost three weeks in an old English cottage in the Cotswolds a year ago, and the owner had it decorated very much like your home. It was light & bright & the upstairs bedroom did have a scrubbed pine bed & armoire. You've done a lovely job

Stunning home, I am a new subscriber. You made my day, I did realize I have a love of, “Cottage Life”. My entire home cabinets and walls were recently painted in medium and light grey. I also like having crisp white accents in my especially the floor boards, trim around the windows and all my doors. Antique shops are my adventure day to treasure hunt, as well. I’m impressed, I love your crystal door knobs. This inspired me for my next project. Locating antique crystal door knobs for my home. All my cabinets in the kitchen; bathrooms and laundry room have the crystal knobs. My accents in all my rooms are, white rose, baskets and oil paintings with white flowers and green leaves. I am looking forward to your next inspirational video. I love your cutting boards display. I having been using a towels bar with ribbon tied threw the cutting boards. At this time, I have a vintage hutch painted to match the kitchen wall with “Bead Board”. Looking for hutch display ideas. Also, breakfast room drapes. My windows are Bay Windows. I have a oval, vintage, breakfast table but have been looking for a round table. I put a French Settee and two French Chairs around the breakfast table. So, glad to have found your inspiring videos.

I scolded through hundreds of pictures of English Cottage & found how Beautiful they are. Your home is that, extremely beautiful. In the pictures I did note that a lot of Homes had way to many items it looked cluttered to me. I like Simple & warm neutral I am unsure if we want Medication Modern or cottage design

Well, this video is delightful. I've installed both antique bead boards (found in architectural salvage) and the panelling. The paneling not only looks good - it is far easier to install and paint. so many good ideas here; thank you!

Love, love your home, and enjoy your videos very much. You've done some beautiful project additions to your home. I think you may be missing an opportunity to add a touch of charm to your built in bench beside the fireplace- add the beadboard, or board and batten, look you love on the wall above the seat. Take it as high as the bookcase on the other side to balance it out. A quick project, and one that will up the charm factor immensely! ! It just seems a little lonely there, sitting and waiting for a vintage vibe. All your ideas today are perfect, and attainable for all of us...thank you.

OHHH, OK what I call elf houses are actually called English Cottage revival. I often think of English cottages having LOTS of patterned floral William Morris wallpapers, fabrics and hand embroidered table runners, floral china....however when I look at English cottages on youtube realty sites from the UK, often the stone interiors are painted white with whitewash, and they use more plain tan linen for table runners and throw pillows like you do. Often they do use patterned fabrics for curtains; often short curtains that do not puddle or touch the floor because the windows are often small. They often use blue for bedrooms -- striped blue and white bedspreads and so on.

I really love your style. I have a quaint idea for your old repurposed fireplace mantle. It's for the little square cutout you have. I like to incorporate little cast iron critters in my home decor and I stumbled on to these little cast iron mice. I bought three in different poses and I have them peeking around plant pots on my window sill. They look and are the same size as real mice. I think one of those mice would look so cute and whimsical peaking out of that hole. I'm sure you can find them on Amazon or eBay. I live in Michigan too. I bought mine one the way home from Columbus Ohio after visiting family in a candy store called Coons Candy. Besides candy they have a section with lots of cute stuff for decorating. Rustic throw rugs, knick knacks, wind chimes, and much more quaint things that you wouldn't find in regular stores. Kinda like some of the gift shops in Frankenmuth. Anyway hope you're doing well during this shutdown. Stay safe. I assume you could call the store if you like the idea. They have a ton of different cast iron critters, mine are with tail about three inches long.

The best is the cutting boards and the beam fireplace mantel. The avg. is those 2x4 that do not respect the age of your house. Love the mail box! what makes cozy to me is not white chairs you don’t want to ruin but is something that happens over time. Do something daring. Be true to your own style and what makes you unique. That is the most important thing. Natural elements are not expensive. I have found inspiration from my roots which are English and my 1909 Dutch colonial. My travels as well. You do a sweet job on display. And love the house, reminds me on old Christmas cards from the 20’s you will see these houses. Those tea cups with the blue are very 70’s. Old dishes are so inexpensive but some are really pieces of art for under 5 bucks. These rooms need more of you and less what is trendy. Authentic you and your family . These are just my opinions so take or leave. Best wishes and Go Blue....sometime soon 😋If you get to Ann Arbor go to treasure mart. Great prices.
