It is mainly the 4 cylinders vs the Yamaha's 2. A 2 cylinder engine has more torque in the low/mid range but comes more abruptly. The Honda has a 4 cylinder engine which deliver a much smoother and linear power delivery and besides, in my opinion, an unmistakable sound. After 7k rpm you better hold on because it will pull all the way up. As for build quality, well, Honda is Honda.

You don't have to but to get the best possible fuel/air ratio it might be something to think about. The downside is you'd also need a controller such as a Power Commander and then get is set up on a dyno, adding to the cost. I didn't bother with any of that and for the most part, it was ok. There is a natural flat spot at around 6k and this exhaust made that a little more pronounced.

You'll be fine for 3 years if it's a new bike (as they don't need MOT until the 3 years are up). After that, depends on the MOT station. Some are lenient, some are not. It's not legal so it's a bit of a gamble. I never bothered with a remap and while it had a slight flat spot, it wasn't terrible.

@@syedali7285 As far as I have been told, adding a more free flowing exhaust leads to a reduction in back pressure. Less back pressure from the exhaust means more air in the combustion chamber and therefore leaner running. can you pls review the other version of Akrapovic Exhaust which is S-H6R14-HEGEHT? what is the difference?
@Englishbikerdan5 жыл бұрын
If you want to send me a system to review, sure! That one is the update exhuast that is EU approved and fully road legal exhaust for the newer CB650R.
@willysantiago44235 жыл бұрын
@@Englishbikerdan does that mean its more quiet than the full titanium S-H6R11-AFT? What makes the Akrapovic Carbon Tip legal and the other one not?
@TheRafeMan4 жыл бұрын
Willy Santiago A non-removable DB killer conforms to Euro4 which the CB(R)650(R) is.
@MisterMaa4 жыл бұрын
@@TheRafeMan i almost sounds like the stock exhaust. Can you confirm that?
@TheRafeMan4 жыл бұрын
@@MisterMaa Just visit the Akrapovic website and listen to the sound clip of the Euro4 version. It's tame in comparison and not a worthwhile upgrade in my opinion.

Hi Dan, Have you declared this on your insurance? I want this for my bike, but it's advertised as a race system and I'm unsure whether I can have it on the bike and still maintain compliance with my insurance company to ride the bike on the road. Obvs don't want you to incriminate yourself dude.
@Englishbikerdan4 жыл бұрын
You probably should declare all mods, just to be safe however like you say, some companies won't insure you with a race system. Some do though. ;)
@TheRtHonJimStiffOG4 жыл бұрын
Yea I defo want to declare all mods, and if I can't get insured with this system then it's not getting bought. Time will tell I guess

Great video..keep up the good work. Is the price difference between the black widow worth it...although got to say the Akra looks better
@Englishbikerdan5 жыл бұрын
I tend not to look at things that way. Afterall, the Black Widow will work just fine. I just prefer the Akrapovic sound, look and how it fits to the bike.

did you need to use the o2 sensor extension or the stock one was long enough?

Yeah had to use the extension. 👍

@@Englishbikerdan cause I was looking at the installation guide and it says only for 14-17 model you need to remove the O2 sensor.

Hey - love your videos! How does it compare to the black widow you tested in another series of videos? I’m looking to be louder for commuting but am concerned with the cheaper system (BW) that it might sound tinny and lower quality. Any thoughts? Thanks!
@Englishbikerdan4 жыл бұрын
The BW definitely is tinnier but still sounds pretty good. I'm installing an SC Project next so keep an eye out for that!
@alexxbcg4 жыл бұрын
Amazing thanks for the info! I saw your videos where you first had a 200mm and then a 300mm BW exhaust, which one sounded better? I’m leaning towards the BW as it’s significantly more reasonable in terms of budget haha. Not sure whether to go for 300mm or 230mm with noise levels and tone
