Hello EBD, I got my 650R a week ago. It's exceeded my expectations by miles. Totally love it. Very thirsty though: 40 mpg and I've had steam pouring out of the radiator after only a few miles. Have you had any overheating probs? Thanks for the vids, by the way.

Yeah if you are fitting a full system then a custom map would be beneficial. I think you'd either need a custom ECU map or a Power Commander. Personally, I'd go with something more road legal such as the SC Project SC-1M as it doesn't need remapping.

Hello again mate. After this full year of ownership with the Akrapovic full system (the new one with carbon end) I tried having the muffler removed for a month. After riding for an hour, my inner right ear hurts. Since the pipe-end points out to the right. Usually if the pipe-end points to the rear, I wouldn't feel any inner ear pain Just wondering if you have experienced any similar issue? Thanks

by the way, I had a BMW air cleaner installed and went dyno tune (ECU re-flash) the graph shows +7 nm torque and +7 bHP at 9500 RPM The torque graph came earlier than stock and more gradually. the fuel consumption also went down by 2 km / liter

Hey Dan. Thanks for all your cool videos on the channel! Just wondering, isn’t the bike running a bit too lean with the full pipe and no remap/ power commander? To me this is a straight pipe, as there is no cat on it... I saw Akrapovic says on their website you don’t need a power commander, but was wondering how does that hold in real life? Is there a lot of popping on deceleration? Do you feel any flat spots in power around 5k rpm? Thanks and congrats on the bike 😊

Dan , I don't know how you did this I have bought the not so legal version but at the moment I cant even get the original exhaust off because I need to take the rad off I have taken off the 4 bolts also there is a 5th right behind the rad very aukward but I cannot get the socket wrench in there ..

I didn't need to take the radiator off. I just got a universal joint attachment for my socket so I could move the rad a little.

Fyi akro exhausts dont need a tune. They are designed to be run in stock map

They obviously can be run with a stock map, but to get the most out of them and to eliminate the flat spot a tune is recommended. Especially if you're removing the baffle.

@@ΠαντελήςΤσάλλης Not the one I had as it had no cat but wasn't approved for the 650R only the 650F. Akra do sell a street legal system for the 650R though, it's the carbon tipped one but it won't be as loud as the other system.

@@ΠαντελήςΤσάλλης Depends on what you like the look of. Akra race system is loudest, legal version is pretty quiet. Black Widow is cheap but not road legal and quite loud. SC system is a nice deep tone but not offensive at the higher rpm. SC is also a lot cheaper than Akra but still awesome quality. Black Widow quality is not as high as the other two but good for the price. I'll do a sound comparison between all the exhausts I've had soon.

Definitely a beginner bike if you don’t be an idiot. Up right seating position. Light weight for a middle class motorcycle. Not too big and very agile in traffic, perfect for beginner just learning to turn or control bikes. Very smooth throttle and power, so easily controllable for beginners.

im a beginner and bought this bike. its very easy to ride. very forgivin and easy Clutch. good Brakes. very light and agile bike. very smooth and gentle in low rev which is perfect as a beginner. but more than enough power in high rev. so even if you learn quick, you dont feel for a faster bike even after some years, cause on high rpm you have enough power.

I just installed this exact system on my 2021 CB650R and now the check engine light is on. Did you have this problem? will I have to get my ecu re-flashed?

I think the light initially came on but mine went away after turning off again. I think it's the o2 sensor detecting a difference in the o2 levels.

Can someone explain how this will not be running lean as hell. Changed the flow of the exhaust, hence more potential power & sound but no remapping. The bike will do its best to compensate for sure but the fuel map, injectors, fuel pressure etc was never designed for this exhaust when they were trying so hard to meet emissions regulations. This is a half job bodge at best, of course the exhaust company will say it works as it does but it doesn't mean its correct.

It ran a little lean without mapping for sure. But temps all good and no issues other than that.

Running rich not so bad but running lean with most people likely to be thinking of the performance gains pushing it hard to see the difference there is a small possibility you could melt the pistons. A lot of risk for what, just get it mapped and have it correct with all the benefits and none of the risk. Be great to see a follow up video of this.

You cannot ecu flash this model and there is no powercommander for this model yet. Dynojet told me they expect to have one , but they didnt have a test bike yet, that was 2 weeks ago i got that respons.
