Wow this was spot on as I'm preparing for the test! Looking forward for more videos. I have a question: I wonder if you can help me out with words like 'crisps', 'risks' and 'draughts'. The ending sounds blended together are a bit tricky, like the one in 'months'. I've heard that sometimes 'months' is just pronounced 'munts' so one wouldn't have to say the th sound. Is this true for other words like 'moths' or 'deaths'?

Hi Mick, great questions. The struggle is more to do with there being so many consonants next to one another. Two or consonants together are called consonant clusters, and the sps, sks, sts, fts and nths cluster are particularly difficult sounds to make one after another. You're right, some native speakers elide one of the consonants in these clusters but my personal preference is to pronounce each of the sounds. Try saying the sounds in isolation and then build up speed until they feel achievable. Hope that helps.
