This video is a request from one of you on past participles in English! Past participles can be tricky because they are used in several different tenses in English and many verbs have irregular forms. By the end of this video you will know all the ways we can used past participles in English and understand each verb tense that uses them.

Hi Claire. You are using an amazing grammar in your speaking, such as 'when using', 'the first being confusing' , 'Being use' ,'Using',etc. I always have this question in my mind how they work ! I thinks this is an unsolvable problem for some other students too.

I have questions can you construct sentences using the past participle this verb form usually ends in ed, d, t, n or en
@yasinakpulat556
@yasinakpulat556 3 ай бұрын
I understand the usage of past participles as adjectives. However, we can use the present participle as an adjective as well. So, how can I understand which form of the verb I need to use if I want to use the verb as an adjective? I mean, is there any grammar rule that indicates whether we can use "broken window" over "breaking window"?
@EnglishTeacherClaire
@EnglishTeacherClaire 3 ай бұрын
Well, in this case ‘broken window’ is the correct phrase as ‘breaking window’ doesn’t make sense in almost every context. Most past and present participles used as adjectives will have very different meanings so that you can know which is correct to use based on the context (like ‘bored’ vs ‘boring’) hope it helps! 🤓
