Yes, it's a good point to talk about. There are times when I choose to address grammar that's not the focus of the lesson, especially if it's going to cause a misunderstanding. Using gerunds as subjects was important, so without using terminology, I decided to point out that a gerund and not a base verb could serve as the subject. "Exercising at the gym is better." Sometimes I give quick corrections with articles without explanations, hoping that exposure and continued practice will reinforce the correct patterns. For those reading and interested: THE weather in Boston THE weather in Brazil >> This is specific weather. Which weather? The weather in Boston/Brazil. American music Brazilian music No article >> The adjectives already explain which music I'm talking about. Compare: THE music in the U.S, THE music on American radios, THE music that Brazilians listen to >> Here we need "the" to clarify it's specific music. The following information helps.

I see more than one mistake. One may not be a mistake, but the sentence is awkwardly worded. Try to identify the two clauses: (1) Due to lack of interest (that) officials....with America, (2) to lift the embargo...behavior. >> Due to [this], [here is the result]. A comma would help clarify the separation between the adverb clause of reason and the main clause. One mistake is with subject-verb agreement in the first dependent clause. Do you see it? Personally, I find the use of an infinitive as the subject confusing. Let's find the main grammar mistake first, and then talk about clearer wording before trying to identify the syntax.

I don't like dogs, so I think a dog is the worst pet. The gorgeous hotel Voyage in Turkey was the best place for a vacation. Going to the gym and training on the simulator is the best kind of exercise. Exercising at the gym is better than exercising at home because when people see me, I try to do my best. American music is undeniably better than Brazilian music.

I'll try putting all three words in a sentence: Although that example was bad, the previous one was worse, with the first one being the worst of all.

@@Englishwithjennifer Yes, I think focusing on wordiness and how to avoid it would be a good idea. Lately I have been noticing mistakes from the students with their use of verb tenses. I just wonder if a nice simple easy-to-follow lesson on this would help eradicate errors like these: 'In the movie a lot of the villains dead.' 'We write about that subject before.' I'm noticing confusion over past tenses and past participles also: Past Tense Versus Past Participle We flew to Portugal in the summer. We have flown to Portugal once. Oh, so many ideas and so little time!

Hi. Use articles before countable nouns: The best pet is a dog. A dog is better than a cat. (OR: Dogs are better than cats.) A cat is worse than a dog. (OR: Cats are worse than dogs.)
