Nicks couldn't make my extra wide tactical boots with the Sierra sole. But they solved the issue with the max wedge. I look forward to getting my boots and like the look of the new max wedge better. Happy to wait longer to get a better product for my needs.

@@nicksboots yeah I ultimately chose the black vibram 700 v-bar. It would great if offer brown full and half soles. I’d also think it would be cool if you offered Dr. Soles and Dainite.
@umbertosmith70145 ай бұрын
@@AJ-by6pd Dr Soles are limited in sizing widths, the same problem they have with the Vibram mini lug...its a pain in the ass to mount the mini lug and get it centered nice for the stitching lines. I'd like to see Nicks make a proprietary mini lug with a faster production time than take the same problems associated with the mini lug just so somebody can have a cool look... Form over function always.

I got a pair of Nicks moc toe wedge boot with the sand wedge. At work I walk on very abrasive flooring on an assembly line on and off every day. The outsole wore out within 2 months. I had them resoled locally with a more durable vibram Christie sole. That only lasted 3.5 months. I called Nicks and they said for maximum durability to go with the sierra sole. Is that factual? I spend over $500 for those boots, $130 for the first resole, and now another $250 to have Nicks put the sierra sole. I really like this boot but if this sole doesn’t last at least 12-16 months, I can no longer continue to spend money on them.
@nicksboots9 ай бұрын
Hey there, While the Sand Wedges are a great choice for concrete flooring they may not last as long as some of our rubber or harder polyurethane options. If you still need a sole with a fair amount of cushion but need something that lasts longer then I think you've made the right choice with the Sierra Sole. The Sierra Sole is one of our longest-lasting options due to the thick rubber but still has plenty of cushion due to the foam in the heel. If you have any other questions or concerns about this please feel free to contact our customer service email at customerservice@nicksboots.com. Thanks!

Next time try to get the Vibram christie, have a cobbler sand it smooth, cement/glue on a flat sierra. Now every time your sierra wear out, just need to cement/glue on another sierra. that is like a 50-70$ dollar job. Hell you can even do it yourself if you want to. Now you have a pair that lasts as long as the upper leather. I did that to 2 pairs of my boots now. It works.

The Nicks wedge soles outpaced the Vibram wedge soles 3X in an independent test. 2:30
@umbertosmith70145 ай бұрын
These soles are TPR compund...similar to vibram but with more widths for wide footed, its not a drop in quality, its gonna keep prices stable because they have a proprietary vendor. This only applies to the Christy style soles if you want that classic wedge construction sole, its nothing magic just a slightly denser harder compound. Go for the Sierra sole if you want better grip. The black max wedge is the one with lugs but it looks kind of thin. A good trade off in weight savings over the V100...Options man, gotta have more options to keep people happy. 3x as abrasion resistant in the lab means nothing, gotta put out in the real world.

Have a similar duel density outsole on my most comfortable combat boots. Definitely a better option that than wedge soles in my opinion.
