A popular Indian dish! Bharwa Karela, also known as Stuffed Bitter Gourd, is a flavorful and nutritious recipe made with karela, spices, and herbs. Here's a simple recipe:
Ingredients:
- 4-6 medium-sized karela
- 3-4medium sized onion
- 1 Tbsp grated ginger
- 3-4 grated garlic
- 2Tbsp Roasted Groundnut
- 2Tbsp Roasted white Til
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder, amchur powder and red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sauf powder and garam masala
- Salt, to taste &1-Lemon
- 2 tablespoons oil
Instructions:
1. Scoop out karela seeds and pulp, making a shell.
2. Chop Onion,ginger, garlic and green chilli.Dry roast Groundnut and white till.
Take mixer add all dry masala with roasted groundnut and white till and make powder.
4.Take pan and heat oil then add cumin seeds and chopped onion,fry it.
Add all Masala when onion is pink,then add seeds and pulp and cook it for 4-5min.
Stam all karela in steamer for 7-8 min.
7. Stuff each bitter melon shell with the mixture.
4. Heat oil in a pan and fry stuffed karela until golden brown.
5. Serve with roti, rice, chapati or as a side dish.
