Hello everyone, we meet again.
I harvested corn in the garden, the rats ate quite a lot.
I enjoy the ripe banana chamber, very tasty.
What will you cook with bananas?

I think corn is supposed to be planted closer together to increase pollination to get full ears of corn

Also the ground needs to be "cleaner" so that the plants are not competing for water and nutrients.

@@Lauradicus :"open ground": True. But they will if necessary. I raise chickens and I regularly watch rats cross open ground to raid the leftover hen scratch in the coop. Yes, I have traps everywhere. Baited with all their favorite snacks. Rats are very intelligent and soon learn to avoid the traps. A foot apart and planted with beans and squash in each hill. The corn will grow tall, the beans will climb the stalk and be easy to pick and the squash will cover the ground so nothing else can grow. Then you can store the corn and beans in the gourds for winter

You should look into how the Native Americans used to grow corn. They would plant corn along with beans and squash all in the same hole. The three plants then helped each other through our the growing season

The three sisters. The corn would give something for the beans to climb, the beans would impart nitrogen and the squash would shade out weeds. Plant in little hills corn in the middle then beans then squash.

Would this be what people call inter-cropping? I normally see my parents do it but just with the corn and beans. Maybe throw some cassava or pumpkin or sweet potatoes on the embarkments because we love in a hilly area. Also helps with reducing erosion

Could make a rake to collect the chopped plants and add them to a compost. Also, maybe make some sort of support for the dirt wall behind the cement wall that can be seen at 21:59. With enough rain it could slump down and fall into your tank.

Just a thought...You can tie the mother hen to a stake in the middle of the yard but keep their little coop near her on its side or flipped upside down but propped up (like you're setting a trap with it), so the chicks have someplace to hide if a flying predator comes swooping for them. The open & soft bush in your yard may not provide enough protection when they forage. 🐔🐥🐥🐥 Great job otherwise!
@Fenrir_94

For your roof, I would suggest charring the planks of wood. One method is to tie three planks of similar size together in such a way that it makes a triangle, and stand it over a small flame. The inside will burn and char, but it will make it water proof by heating up the resin in the wood. I would suggest getting a place built for your chickens soon, someplace enclosed with enough room for them to run around, with a place for them to stay in case it rains.

I saw another farmer place an unripe banana bunch and some newly ripened bananas in a bamboo basket that was lined with several banana leaves. He packaged the fruit like a rice cake and placed them in a corner away from the heat and placed a weight so the leaves completely covered them. I don't know how well it worked but nothing beats a miss but a try.

You can consider to grow more snake plant, ginger, garlic and lemon grass so as to keep the snake, mouse and others to came near, they probably are scare of the smell.

That corn definitely didn't get the proper amount of nutrients, etc. it needed to grow, it's obvious from the length variation and kernel pattern. The garden needs to be terraced as it's too sloped and the rain is leeching nutrients away, and corn needs to be planted closer together to help prevent nutrients from leeching away in the rains. You also need a composting bin to add nutrients back into your garden and rotate the crop placement in the garden every season. Another thing I would suggest as a when you have no other large projects going and after the garden is terraced is making yourself some paving stones for in between the crop rows, this will greatly help reduce the amount of weeds, so less weeding and more nutrients for your food crops.

Algunas recomendaciones.

@@holmesmycroft2157 : You are the one who is obligated to define what the parameters "primitive" are. You are the one who is saying that his ancient skills are not primitive. Most of us recognize that what he does is primitive. The fact that you personally cannot do what he does, does not determine that @P. Skills is fake. It is very likely that you, yourself would be unable to operate the tools and equipment you claim he used to build his homestead. Do you even know which end of a shovel to hold ?! Why do you refuse to give us your definition of Primitive ?!!

It looks like you need to forge a scythe for grass. Cleaning grass with the power of the whole body is much faster and more efficient than using your hands.

With enough iron, wouldn't it be possible to build a steam enginge? It would take time and effort no doubt, but it would be a great step forward and save a lot of manpower in the long run. Just the ability to make a proper sawmill alone would save so much time and energy. An automated and powerful grindstone, a pottery wheel, even a powered hammer to aid in the forging process.

the plants name, there's probably a dozen different names depending on location! and the chickens, you're going to have to build a chicken coop/house with a caged in yard for them!
