i got my self some powerslide next 80's, been out a couple of times now and have not fallen over yet (skating as a kid defiantly helped there) even though it was just around a small car park, my goal is just to be able to skate around confidently on all surfaces. i got some way to go but im looking forward to the day i can skate around my town on an evening and get some good exercise!

Inline skater from Birmingham here! Don’t listen to haters! I think you skate great! I can tell Bill Stoppard is a skating inspiration for you and your skate style as he is for me and mine. Would love to potentially skate with you one day dude maybe we can teach each other a few things. Maybe you’d be interested in doing a visiting skater feature type thing? Urban skate flows for the win!!

Thanks for this rightful message 🙂 I joined the skaters community a few months ago and sometimes it gets overwhelming because everyone try to show their best and how many new tricks they can do in the shortest time possible. Sometimes it’s inspiring and sometimes it makes you feel like you SHOULD be doing it too. But at the end this feeling never won me over because I constantly remind myself -like you said- the most important is enjoying skating, no matter how it is done. Seriously, It’s one of the best thing on earth to help freeing our mind and body, we shouldn’t let anyone try to change this. So thanks for your video(s), and do not change a thing, I enjoy watching you skating 👍🏼

Turning 30 this year and finally buying a pair for myself. Skated a little when I was a kid, just beginner stuff, but loved the feeling of absolute freedom - like the whole world suddenly became a playground. Was always scared of hurting myself, and it always seemed like there was too much to learn when watching pros, but everybody starts somewhere. Looking forward to skating. Keep on keeping you, mate.

I feel identified with this video. Gabriel, a 42-year-old beginner who feels that every time he puts on his skates is always a beautiful moment for me. And I try to improve in each outing but only for me, that for those who watch I must continue to be a veteran learning things from young people, but for me the small achievements that I am getting are super important. Greetings from Uruguay.

Just the right message for me at this time! I'm one of those who sometimes lets my desire to improve and break new ground discourage me from just putting the skates on in the first place. You're absolutely right- just roll, and don't worry about what you can or can't do and whether you'll ever learn that skill you have in mind!

Absolutely, the important thing is to enjoy your skating, whatever the level it is. The same point of view for enjoying life, too. If we needed only great occasions to really enjoy what we do, that would mean we would spend most of the time wishing what we can't do or have. Too poor. Yours is a very intelligent point of view. The key to real happiness. From Almería, southeast Spain

That was great. I think theres some 40 yr old wisdom there. When your over 40 you dont give a toss what people think.Everything you said is true. its not a competition. (except aginst youself maybe) backslide pornstar to UFO now theres a phrase and you only get away with saying to other skaters. haha. All the best. Take care

@@whittyskater haha. I was just imagining me saying in in the supermarket and getting arrested or at the very least some funny looks. I think its a move that can be done. fakie UFO to finish off a Pornstar. I'll get back to you on it about 3 years time hahah. all the best.

Focus on Progression is a paradox: Focus on progression is a painfull waiste of time if there is no gratitude for the things that got achieved! Remember where you came from and why you started, have fun and spend time doing the things you like and progression will be there without waisting time thinking about it.

Watched your videos and they are motivational and fun to watch. I'm beginning to learn and recently had a really bad fall (landed almost horizontally and exactly on my tailbone area) while doing it and injured my back. I'm still currently out but definitely continuing to learn when I have recovered. Do you have some tips on how to fall more "safely"? I seriously doubt everyone who learned to skate fell the way I did. I wore back protection and it was still extremely horrible. I definitely don't want to have another fall like that ever again and I believe it partly can be avoided by learning how to land more safely when falling?
@whittyskater4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Sorry to hear about your injury. I'm not the best person to ask tbh. I have no clue how to fall properly. I did a very similar thing to you and it hurt like hell. I've also broken my ribs twice! I would ask an experienced aggressive skater as they fall alot but must have taught themselves over the years how to fall properly.
