Joe, I wish I was shopping in your area. I found some A case cars in a Target that I frequent. They were the equivalent of hot dumpster water. Certainly NONE of the mainlines you showed. 😢

Oh, the Jaguar looks really good. Today I also received it by mail. It is a very nice casting.

Ah, now that Rover and Jaguar team transport set is a cool combo, my kind of vibes there.

I personally want to fishd and chipd I love that car LOL in my experience treasure hunts are 2 out 3. Short card cases when it comes to treasures is way lower than regular cases. Supers are in my experience are 1 in 6. I think production near the end of the year gets a little sketchy I think they overproduce between Christmas and the release of next year's cars. Mattel can do that because they don't release their production numbers for the most part. But they say A case is one of the hardest ones to go back and collect. Me personally I wish that they would make super treasures even harder to find. It would cut down on some of the people who aren't true collectors. I still need quite a few from B case. I think it's more like 60/40 scalpers in the lead😮 that's why I enjoyed your top 10 cars because it really gave a good pulse to the hobby we are in. I'm getting pretty good at this point of knowing what's going to be around and what's not. It's all about the highly collectible JDM models right now. Sorry muscle car collectors but those days are coming to an end the being King of the Mountain.

@@michaelharrington223 My bet is JDM hype will be replaced with F1 hype. JDM diecast will hold on for awhile, no doubt. But, Skyline fever has about run its course. Not sure on the next move there, maybe Mazda? I'd love to see a drift modded CX-90, lol.

So wild that the yellow TT set has a lack of deco overall. Great details on the car, Mattel didn't skip any of those lights! _Uff da,_ the hitch on the Rover is so YUGE as to make the appearance acceptable just when attached to the trailer. Was the hitch on the Toyota set that big? I have no data on TH inclusion in short card cases, can't help there. If Mattel is throttling down both those and $TH in cases, that hardly bothers me. Let the Diecast Desperados thirst even more for them. Waiting for the classic Jaguar to get more deco on it, maybe a licenced racing livery. MBX has treated the Mercedes sedan racer very well from that era and so has Hot Wheels at least in a premium release

Yeah, missed opportunity on that hauler box. One would think they'd at least slap some of their own branding on there.
@steverobsondiecastАй бұрын
If this is true, this is nuts. For me. I just look for cars i like that I find on the pegs. There is a shift in the hobby. It is getting to the point where they see $$$$ signs rather a nice car bought for whatever reason ( memories, etc.). I just buy what i like what I like now.

It's all about the distribution which mattel sucks on !! And believe me nothing is rare!!! We as collectors don't have rare stuff .everyone thinks their holding gold in these toolings. The only people that have rare stuff is is bruce pascal and mike zarnock!! Mattel has us all Buffaloed into this hobby and making collectors spend their money on stupid stuff. DONT LET YOUR COLLECTION OWEN U !!!

It's entirely possible that the market is saturated with resellers, and it no longer makes sense for many. That's my hope, anyway. I AM a patient Jag collector. I have eyes out, and I'll find one at some point. I'm neutral on the Yota set. I feel compelled to echo Chris' comment, why is the truck void of box graphics? Why not at least tout your own brand, and slap a big HWs Racing something something on there? I find it really difficult to make sense of their marketing and sales strategies. 🤷
@Chris_HoodАй бұрын
@@norsefalconer indeed, if the yellow TT set was intended to represent a private owner with the means to have a dedicated hauler, surely they'd invest in some unique graphics too It's far from unheard on the Hot Wheels subreddit to see evidence of older products suddenly returning to the pegs in stores, the result of Desperados who couldn't sell online. Fingers crossed that they weed themselves out to some less ludicrous levels!!

Absolutely hate the idea of a chase or treasure hunt, it's a greedy tactic to push people into buying massive amounts to just find one particular thing. My kids suffer from this because now all of the toys come in "Surprise" packs, so far they haven't been too upset about not getting what they want, but I feel like it's a sort of conditioning companies are doing to future consumers to be complacent with what they have instead of demanding the company give them what they intend to pay for. These are "deceptive practices" and should be banned worldwide.
@raganx7108Ай бұрын
Collecting should be about having what you want and not about having something because someone else doesn't have it that's psychotic.
@GigantoidArchiveАй бұрын
I think for a lot of people that's the whole appeal. Having something that's desired by others makes it special. I think that's why treasure hunts and Super Treasure Hunts are all some people look for.
@raganx7108Ай бұрын
@@GigantoidArchive I understand the appeal, but doesn't it sound a little evil and greedy to you that you wish someone else despair because they are without. Has "Lord of the rings" not taught anyone anything.
