Goji berries also known as "Wolf Berries" are high in iron so my fellow subclinical anemic and also anemic folx, yer up! This is for you! You can add dried orange slices to the brew for extra absorption and flavor too! 🍊🍵

It's so pretty! Fun fact before tea became so popular that it became synonymous with plants being steeped in water herbal and flower teas were called tisanes (pronounced tiz-an) in English. I thought people who enjoy learning about tea might enjoy that fact.

Starting from strongest to mild, I recommend Kava, Ashwagandha, echinacea, and of course chamomile teas for people that want non-caffeinated herbal teas. They are good for treating anxiety/depression and boost your immune system. They also all taste very good as well. Kratom tea is also great for anxiety and pain but doesn't taste very good, unfortunately.

The wonderful folks at West China Tea included some white chrysanthemum in a "pu'er" request I put in and I'm super excited to try mixing some into the cooked pu'er they also included. Having tried some of the pu'er without I'm excited to see how the flower affects the aroma. The shu pu'er was super soft and round in the mouth but was really lacking the fragrance I've been enjoying out of other tea types. If the flower does what I think it will, it's going to be easy to understand the reason people add it in!

im a hobbyist gardener, and this got me wondering what plants i could grow for tea besides chamomile? if anyone wants to throw plant and flower suggestions at me be my guest!
@krysab61255 ай бұрын
FUN FACT: Any of your camellia can be used for 'tea' - flavours and caffieine content won't be the same, mind. Rose petals, chamomile, mint - all also good! (Keep mint in a pot, it's invasive) Depending on where you are in the world, there's likely others. Here in the UK, we have nettle leaves, bramble/blackberry leaves, cornflowers, tillia/linden flowers, which are all lovely
@vonvonkarmz5 ай бұрын
@@krysab6125 oh wonderful! yeah i am a huge mint fan, but those suckers will not stop growing. oh well, guess i have to make more stuff with mint. about the blackberry leaves, ive been wanting to grow my own black raspberry bush (not to be confused with blackberry) so ill do a little digging on whether or not i can use those leaves as well. thank you!

Some of the herbs and flowers we grow in our garden and use in tisanes are: chamomile, calendula, hibiscus, spearmint, peppermint, cat mint, lemon balm, elderberry, St. John’s wort, sage, yarrow, tulsi, pennyroyal, evening primrose, nettle, comfrey, plantain. All of these are tasty and have medicinal properties.🍵💜
@LothlorienOH5 ай бұрын
@@vonvonkarmz We have red raspberries and black raspberries (yes, totally different than a blackberry), both leaves are full of nutrients. We have the same problem with mint running rampant, so try to plant it in a container in the ground. It will still escape but not as easily.🙃

I'm wondering what you could tell us about Elecampane (Inula helenium) root tea. It grows in Xinjiang. Wikipedia doesn't say anything about China, but I bet there is a thousand year history associated with it, probably mostly medicinal. I would be especially interested in the mythology around it. Perhaps in connection to the Yuezhi or Tocharians. Because in German Elecampane is named after the Centeral Asian Alans, that are closely related to the Tocharians that lived in Xinjiang in the first millenium.

How do you feel about steeping for as long as 10-15 minutes? Are there any specific teas that lend themselves to longer steeping? I tend to lean toward teas with minimal caffeine, so I don’t really drink much black tea but I’m totally open to suggestions as I love trying tea of all varieties 📿
