Beautiful video Andrea! Your mother would certainly be proud! I agree with the person in these comments who said you are giving 9 people perfect childhoods! And those nine people are wonderful and will likely continue the legacy, as you have continued what your mother gave you. Amazing! And as an aside, every time I watch one of your videos, I wonder what on earth I am doing in a crowded city trying to raise my girls in the rat race-it’s really good food for thought. I so admire the way you have constructed your life.

I cried reading about your Mother in this video. I'm so sorry for your loss. Even with it being eight years ago I have a feeling the loss will forever be felt. My Mama died 6 months ago and some days my sadness overcomes me. I LOVE your family so much. So many scenes in the videos remind me of things my Mama said about growing up in a large family. She was the youngest of 14 children. She was loved so much by her siblings and I imagine it was a lot like your children with Hannah.
@TheMillsFamilyVlog6 жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry, Lynn. I know exactly what you're feeling. Sometimes you're just going about your day all fine and you suddenly remember your mom is gone and feel _so_ sad. I always just took a moment to acknowledge to myself that I felt really sad. Just doing that seemed to help the moment pass a lot quicker. It gets easier, but it can still sneak up on me even 8 years later.

I've noticed in your videos that neither your front door nor your back door has a storm door. So when the doors are left open, there is no screen barrier to keep the bugs out. if I did that where I live (in Maine) I would have a procession of various bugs taking advantage of the open door, like black flies, house flies, mosquitos, and various beetles, but the most common is house flies. Does Wyoming not have flying bugs that take advantage of open doors?

how did I miss that you had a water bubbler installed in your house? VERY cool!
@TheMillsFamilyVlog6 жыл бұрын
I'm always on a mission to reduce the workload around here and one time I realized installing one of those would cut down on dishes. The first one we had was a cute little ceramic 1930s model I got on ebay. After a few years we replaced it with the one we have now because the first one started leaking and we couldn't get replacement parts for it. I was disappointed because it was the cutest water fountain. We've had this one for 5 or 6 years, I suppose.

The shopping video is up; it's the one that was called Baby & Blooms. I've got so many videos to edit that timelines are getting all jumbled up. I'm working on one right now that starts clear back when Hannah was 8 days old!

quilterinthewoods62 It’s called “multiplication motivation” it took me FOREVER to find it. It was used on me way back in the third grade, and the songs stuck with me and helped me all the way through high school. I finally located it based on the song lyrics alone a few years ago, and now it’s helping my kids!

I am sorry for your loss. Missing someone never stops. ❤ Big Hug from affair! My husbands Grandpa died on the Friday before Memorial day this year. He was like a second father to my husband. He was the sweetest man. I miss him. My childhood church burned down this last Saturday Hillside Bible church in Forest Grove Oregon (The day after the funeral). But, the people will rebuild and no on was hurt. The church is people not a building. It is sad, but I am thankful that my old pastor and much of my family thay still attends are all okay. It has been a really hard month. But, when you have God tragedy only strengthens your relationship with him. Baby Hannah is getting cuter by the day. I miss baby snuggles, but am enjoying toddler fun until a God blesses with another. Robot is broken. 😂 Wow Judah! That was nice. 😂❤ The kids seem well adjusted and fine. You are so kind to explain, but you don't have too. I can clearly see that your kid's are going to be wonderful God fearing adults. You are such a nice mom to sit and teach them an easier version of the game. ❤

Do you force reading or academics in the summer. I have been struggling on this decision. My youngest HATES reading but I don't want him to get rusty. I also know that summer is summer break
@TheMillsFamilyVlog6 жыл бұрын
We try to do things in the summer that are more on the fun side. We work on Nature Notebooks and do some art projects. Sometimes we'll work a single math problem together and learn to spell a single word and copy it in our best handwriting. (I try to pick a long, interesting word from the dictionary for this so it's more fun.) I encourage some reading time, but I don't make a big issue of it. We still take our weekly trip to the library. Some of the kids love reading and read a lot of books during the summer and some of them don't.
@aprildelira44056 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the input. My son struggles in many subjects and I hoped that integrating learning will give him some catch up time. But maybe I need to make or more fun. My two daughters read and my sons don't. But I guess that's why I homeschooled is for individual learning.
@vegemitegirl19716 жыл бұрын
April De Lira My son, now 19, hated books as a 4 year old. When he was 5 he asked me to teach him. I got him his favourite themed books, which were Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank. If you read their favourite books to them, that is not forcing.

Could you please let me know how we find your blog? I want to share it with a friend who homeschools about your planner. Little Hannah is so beautiful and your family is just precious. I love how you're kids are just so tender to their little sisters.. do your children ever go through any kind of jealousy when a new sibling is born? I have some young mom friends here that I'm going through that issue and I was just wondering what advice you could share if you deal with that at all. I'm sorry about the loss of your mom she would be so proud of you and her heart I'm sure would be overflowing with your family all your children. I'm sure your mom would have the biggest smile and just tell you you're doing a great job and that you and Tom should be so proud. Isn't it something when people think just because a family home schools that they don't have fellowship with other people, I'm sure your children have more connections and friendship time then actually many school children get. People don't realize that many times just because a child attends a public school does it mean they actually get that fun time and hanging out like your family is doing a great job as. There's a lot of family sadly that don't look at the importance of that. I remember when my older children were young it felt like my doors were like revolving doors people always coming in and people always leaving to go to a friend's house or play outside. Andre I think you're an amazing encouragement to people how you walk through your busy days with a smile and such a heart of gratitude.
@TheMillsFamilyVlog6 жыл бұрын
My blog is www.andreamills.tv/. I'm going to have to say that my guess as to why none of my kids have ever been jealous of a new sibling is that throughout the pregnancy I've always included the kids in what's going on and we talk about the new baby and how cute it will be and how much the big sibling is going to love the baby and help mommy take care of the baby, etc. I always talk about the new baby as "our" baby so the bigger kids feel important in caring for and protecting the new little one in the family.
