Listening to you review the longlisters has been the best content for Booker 2024 so far. The rant ones are especially hilarious! Don't dnf, keep them coming! 😂

Good to hear your sniffles don’t detract from your impassioned ability to rage against poorly executed books. 🤗❤️

The description of dialogue reminded me of the part in House of Doors where two characters discuss their tea tasting of "loss and melancholy." I could recommend some better tea and better books! Enlightenment sounds pretty deadly.

I wonder what a writing class would be like with you as the teacher! 😜

I find book awards to be totally worthless to me. 95% of the books are vapid.

pure "honk shoo" material is a hilarious way to describe a book lmao

I agree the dialogue is pretty terrible. I did like this better than other books on the long list-- which isn't saying much. Have long lists in previous years been this bad? I just don't understand the popularity of this prize.

I've been looking forward to this one. I really, really disliked this book. Now I'm looking forward to your thoughts about This Strange, Eventful Life. I didn't like that one either (but that was partly because of the audiobook narrator's annoying French accent when doing the French speaking characters).
