wow. i am definitely an sx 7. 100%. i feel like i have always been an sx 7w8 and its always caused me to kinda be looked down on by my parents and family because they never understood how a girl could be so outspoken, rebellious (i got in trouble so much as a kid haha), and out there. and i have always had those 4 qualities because of how emotional and deep i can be and it makes total sense that the 4 is also like the mistype for the sx 7 and its helped me out so much! thank you!

I'm TOTALLY a SO type 7 (7w8)! I love that you mentioned the "counter-type" and that each type has one. This really helped me zero in on my dominant instinct being "social". My next one is probably "self-preservation". Thanks, Hilary!

This makes so much sense. Side note: Does anyone else feel resistance to claim they are a "sexual" 7? Im like an middle schooler afraid to say the word outloud and I think that has held me back from reading or listening to what other enneagram coaches have been saying. I am absolutely looking for the most interesting person in the room and trying to see how I can sneak away to get a really deep conversation. It feeds my soul. I cannot handle small talk. I get bored. But.... with all of these things I have felt the need to supress, dont be too excited. Dont be too needy. Dont be annoying. So theres a desperation for the excitement to be reciprocated and if it isnt I really really struggle. .... and this has become too long for a comment. Maybe Im just trying to get a 1-1 convo with hillary here lol. I better go journal.

I fully relate to your post. I've dealt with suppressing my energy for most of my life as I'm often considered "too much". I've heard some refer to the sx as the 1:1 (one on one) instinct because so many people are uncomfortable with calling themselves "sexual". I hope that helps a little. 💕

Wow! Okay, Well, thank you for making this easier to understand. I still think I am SO but hearing you talk about it SX is way up there too. My SP is basically off my radar most of the time. Once in a great while I will do that but most of the time those things certainly aren't on my mind at all.

Thank you for explaining this! I was actually wondering if I was a 7 or a 2, but after you explained this, I know I'm a 7, So. Then I'm pretty tied for 2nd type. I definitely think about helping in the kitchen right away and I pay close attention to food options, but then I also want to deeply connect to others instead of surface level communication.

You’re so welcome! This makes total sense. It can get confusing when your 1st instinct is to help but your motivations are not the type 2s motivations. But, it Sounds like you landed on your type and the instincts that are developed 🎉.

Interesting, bc from Chestnut’s subtypes, sp 7 seeks to be *interdependent* with their network for resources, as opposed to being independent.

The 7 social is me!! I thought I was a until I found this video. I would always score high on 2s and 7 on test and couldn't figure out why. And 2s wings didn't match me. Now I get it. I am a social 7w6. Sx is my second, Self preservation is last and very underdeveloped but I learning to care for myself.

I love how you explain the enneagram, finally i can get some concepts crearly... :) I considered myself an 7w6 Sx, but after seeing this video i can relate more with the Sp instinct . I am a one-to-one person, but i need to put my interests, my passions and my needs first. I love spending time with a single person, but i tent to push the other people to share with me the things and actitivies that i like most. I need new experiences, but always with my goals and interests first. I am a home person, i dont enjoy traveling that much, and i prefer to stay home, having a snack, watch a good movie, read a book. This lead me to consider if i could be a 9 type, but i dont avoid conflict, and i am super aware of my needs, what i like, and, as a said, i can be pushy with other people, like "Let's do this, let's do that!"... and if they don't follow me, i'd spend time alone, i am totally ok with being by myself (but not for too many hours lol). My secondary instict would be SX, so that explains how sometimes i feel like a type 4 too. My gluttony, it feels like the urge to have more and more of what i love: new books, new movies, oh i can't miss this new movie on Netflix, oh i started to read 2 books but i neet to buy some more new books so this weekend i could have something new on my hands lol :) I am very childish, and very connected with my inner 5 core (integrated). I always test top 3 in Beth's questionnaire 2, 3 and 7. After all three subtype videos 🤯. I know my stack has SO and SX, but that is about it. I know confusion between 3 and 7 is so common. And 7sx looks like 2. And my MBTI is ENFJ. So we have Fe dom but with Ni. And I'm more Fe-Se jumper. Which makes me loooove anything 7. Tritypes do help.

SO - 7 all day. I closely identify with 2 though. I am literally type two mixed with type 7 which is very odd but …. I have never been so sure about anything lol I’m 2&7! I’m very in tune with peoples emotions. I have always been very in tune with people! I am well rounded and can see the reason in every situation. Even the worst situations. I’m a 2 on the side of empathy and romance. But unfortunately I have been traumatized by people and the inviting part of myself has become avoidant and optimistic to a fault. I’m ALWAYS saying no now and i never used to do that until I woke up and realized that I was letting people take advantage of me. I’m very much a 7 when I am doing well and healthy. I’m a 2 when I am home alone getting in touch with myself but nothing satisfies me & I hate being bored so I thrust myself into productivity and socializing. 🤦🏾‍♀️ im literally both. I dreamed of being a counselor or veterinarian when I was younger but I am very much so UNsatisfied with what that look be like for me. I crave excitement so much to the point where Broadway seems it will be the only career that will fulfill my longing for adventure. I love to perform! I feel i am helping when I do❤️. I’m moving to NYC. For practicality, I’m leaning towards product management and sales. Maybe I will offer counseling/life coach services on the side. If not I will make a great stay at home mom working and acting at the community theatre.🤷🏽‍♀️

Interesting! I misread the idea of a Social 7 so much. I am definitely a sx, so 7 - not sp at all pretty much. Something I'm excited to work on, and probably the very reason I married a strong, sp 6 to have by my side! :-)

I think my sister might be a 7. She is athletic, spontaneous, gullible, and during 2020 stress is totally acting 6. I don’t relate to her at all, except for the 6 for preparedness, but I am always prepared for emergencies (my upbringing with a 6 Aunt around) But my sister during 2020 has gone down the Qanon rabbit hole hard. How do we save the 6 from Qanon????
