Ennis High School 2001 vs Bay City at Reliant Astrodome

My sister and I were in the Dome that night. Ennis defense played great after Graham Harrel passed for the first score of the game. The lions never looked back and played a tough game against a real good Bay City team. And both were State Champions the year before in 2000. Back to Back State Champions! 🦁🏈

2 things happened on that day. 1st I got to see my high school win state championship in my hometown. 2nd is getting married during halftime

LOL Ronnie Greer will love this, he still has hair and it's dark! My daughter was one of the Lionettes, though I would rather see her marching with the band and playing her flute. Such memories to find. These kids are now in their 30's!

I was there on the BC side. Stayed after this and watched Vince Young play in the 5A game against I think Austin Westlake?

You may be thinking of the semi finals when Vince Young’s team lost to Westlake..My Alma Marter, Lufkin Highschool played Westlake in the state championship game there in the astrodome and won..I was 11 at that time..Vince Young was the #1 QB in the nation that year and our QB Reggie McNeal was #2 I wanna say..
