There you have it. Within a few months of that first referendum the political circus had already begun. It didn't take long for the trickery and chicanery to start. I am grateful that I was able to see through the hype, the deceit surrounding that referendum and voted against what was sold to us as an apparently harmless 'Common Market'. Enoch Powell was Health Secretary in the early 1960's and he pushed hard for Commonwealth immigration to fill vacancies in the NHS.
