Man, what does this chick do for a living? I’ve got a collection like hers but it took me collecting my whole life to obtain. Got each console as they came out, grew up with the stuff and have been doing conventions for over 25 years. She barely looks 25 years old and admits to only recently getting into conventions and recently picking up most of her collection. I can’t imagine trying to start this late and when most of the cool “vintage” stuff we grew up with is now being scalped. Had I not been collecting right along the entire time as it was new paying MSRP and slowly building the collection I’d never be able to afford getting into it this late and paying these ridiculous prices. She’s also having to pay top dollar to find mint copies from other people. Growing up I had to just keep mine in minty condition and knew since I was little to keep boxes and take care of everything to possibly be displayed later. It’s also neat hearing her get excited about the origins of the items and doing her research on the hobby learning about it as she goes. For me it feels like that “I know the deep magic I was there when it was written” meme.

Awesome setup. Jerry Lawson was the chief designer of the Fairchild Channel F but he did not do it all by himself. The first color portable console was the atari Lynx. The fairchild has some real 8 track looking games and the controllers were really out there for a wild pong like game.

NES was my first system but im definitely more of a Genesis fan. Im actually grateful for Nintendo..I remember hearing that story about Nintendo flaking on Sony during a supposed partnership for a cd rom based console and Nintendo ended up teaming up with Phillips. In retaliation Sony dropped the Playstation and has been on top ever since all thanks to Nintendo lol

ahh, yes, the Fairchild Channel F system (the F stands for Fun). the video game system for the less fortunate people. my cousin had this b4 he got the original Atari VCS system (later became the Atari 2600) and I got the Atari 5200. best system, closet to the arcade games, terrible joysticks ruined it. they were so loose, you could spin it 360°.
