My son John is 6 yrs and has nightmares demons are attacking him from hell. He wakes at night and is truly having a panic attack and very very distraught. As a mother and father we are suffering too because of his suffering. He was born on the feast of John the Baptist and 6 months prior I was reading my one year catholic Bible and I was pregnant with him and read his name will be John which we already planned to do. I asked my husband when the feast of John the Baptist was and that maybe he would be born on that day. He was, it was 6 weeks early. I ask St John the Baptist to pray for his life, healing and mission. Please pray for little Johnny. 🙏

So sorry your son is suffering. It might help if you get 'Deliverance Prayers for the Laity '. I would recommend you and your husband say the set of Prayers near the back of the book called Auxilium Christianorum. It is necessary that you both be in a state of grace. All the best to you and your family

Looking back on my life (as a middle-aged person), I can honestly say the majority of negative, painful events have led to better than before. When I say better I mean things and new mindsets I never would have attained nor imagined without those negative events occuring. I say majority, but I'm guessing ALL, because it's become apparent to me my understanding is limited. Hang in there and have faith my friends. He will never cease to surprise us.

In fairness there are many saints raised in wealthy families who did not turn out as sissies ! True most gave it away or built monasteries, but character may emerge from such backgrounds. My parents grew up in the Great Depression and did want to splurge on the kids which tended to be negative, certainly in my case. Great discourse, thank you I need to listen again !

I have been listening to this in parts for the last 6 days, and today realized that I will have no health insurance this year because I've had so much anxiety that I completely forgot to pay my premium before the new year. I have been suffering from anxiety and "low grade" depression for 2 years and finally decided I was going to get help, but now I can't. Throughout advent and in many talks like this one, I keep hearing "be joyful." This was part of why I decided to get help. I was also going to get a general check-up, which I have been neglecting for almost a decade. Last month I had a health scare, and so I was going to really start to take care of myself this year. I am so disappointed now. Without insurance, I'll likely become more anxious. I just finished listening to the last 20 minutes of this hoping to be encouraged. For some reason, I suppose God willed me to forget to pay my insurance. I don't understand how this is for my good, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
@AMDG_-nk2dp

Just explain to your group administrator of your health plan or your individual health insurance, and explain to them your situation. I'm sure they are able to make an exception, and manually override their system, to include you you as an "active" member. And also to back-date your active status "as-of" to the beginning of the year. I used to work for a third party billing company for health and dental and vision insurance, and we frequently got questions/ requests that we contacted the particular insurance carrier to get individual situations resolved or rectified. It pays to always ask. And rules can be modified, for accomodations and/or exceptions to be made. Lord bless you. Keep the faith all circumstances. +

I don't think it is about preference. Anyone of goodwill should obviously prefer the leader who has more virtue and who promotes less vice. But the point is that we submit to God's will in bad times and in good. Bad leaders are a chastisement on us for our sins and lack of reparation. We get good leaders as a gift when God sees that we are more deserving of it. Either bad leadership wakes us up to turn to God, or it will just get worse. We must focus on the part that we can control, which is mainly our own hearts and what we have jurisdiction over. God bless.

i truly understand this, for adults over 18. but what about the sufferings & evil that happen to young children ~ my daughter was sexually assaulted & abused for 5 years at the hands of her “father”. from age 5-12. now she is a lesbian, distrusts all men, and has abandoned her faith (i raised her catholic from birth, & she went to catholic school) She feels God abandoned her & didn’t answer her prayers for him to stop {i just recently found out about this ~ she’s now 18 & the father is dead} my heart is breaking at the thought of the evil she was made to endure. he also put a gun to her head as a child as a threat if she told on him. why why does God allow this ~ how was that for her good? i’ve talked to priests & therapists & i feel lost. i go to Mass almost daily, pray rosaries & novenas. Please Father, send a word of advice & please pray for her. God bless you 🙏🏽

I'm really sorry for what happened to your daughter. By no way was anything that happened to her was her fault but she can use it for good. She can look back on what happened to her and understand it better then someone who never had this happen to them but she can help others to avoid this. As in, how did it start? What did her dad do/say to convince her it was ok? Why did she feel like she didn't have someone she could go to about what was happening? Did her dad threaten her, tell her no one would believe her, this is normal, ect...? What are somethings different that someone could of done/said that maybe she would of thought that person was safe to open up too? She can help children and adults understand what they can do to prevent something like this from happening to others. If children know the lies the offender says to convince them this is normal or ok then children can learn when they are being lied to from a so called trusted adult. If she thinks about all that happened to her, she maybe also able to spot the small subtleties that adult do to groom children and able to see when a child maybe in danger. She also needs help to understand not all men are this way. Sadly her dad was a bad example of what men are supposed to be. I pray she can overcome what happened to her and learn maybe how she can help others. And I pray she comes back to God

I noticed that christians not walking with the Lord, despite knowing truth, end up worse than most atheists. That’s why you have all these sexual scandals in the church. The devil is looking for christians more than for unbelievers, and if he finds one, he attacks him with the most scandalous and criminal things, because a christian should know better. The name of the Lord is praised through christians but also often blasphemed because of “christians”. I’m sorry for everything your child went through, I get sick to my stomach thinking about it.

@@yasminpanasjuk682 You do know that sexual scandals are more prevalent in the public schools and with professionals, like doctors, lawyers, business professionals then in the Church's? Amongst the schools it's around 10%, professionals it's around 8%, other religions outside the Catholic faith it's 2-3%, in the Catholic faith it's about 1.25%. No abuse is acceptable but the true statistics are that More children are abused Amongst their own family and friends of the family then anywhere else and these days people all want to accuse a priest because a few bad apples.
