One of the biggest struggles in our marriage was me holding a death grip on our finances. I wasn't giving us our 10% in the beginning because I was under the assumption "We're married and still living in my parents house. Unacceptable, we have to put everything we earn into our savings to move out as soon as possible. NOW NOW NOW!" to the point that stress became fixated and fun seemed impossible for the both of us. We later had a chat about it and agreed it's "okay" to go out and see a movie once in a while, or buy that sketchbook I want, or he can get a game he wanted. It was okay to spend a little here and there, just don't go nuts. Dicipline. Granted we're finally in our own place, not a house (yet) but we're progressively getting closer and hoping we'll have enough saved up for a down payment after a few more months but we'll see. It's been a journey. My biggest fear though which Sub Zero doesn't seem too concerned on is property tax. They seem to keep building every year it's super frustrating. So even if we pay off a mortgage and not have to worry about such debt, it's still daunting knowing the taxes will be high. But we're not in any actual debt at the moment except for a car payment, which we're handling fairly well and will be paid off in 5 more years but other then that we're in good standing.

When I moved out I Started to track every penny I earned and record what it was spent on. This simple record helped me to see if I was spending more that o wanted too on food or personal entertainment and adjust accordingly. 10 year later I am very close to paying off my mortgage on my modest home.

This is really nice to have on hand. My girlfriend has autism and a lot of her 'friends' use her for assets she gets from the state. I want to help her work with her finances more effectively. I've already established long term general goals with her. I'm trying to provide happiness for her and I both in the short term within company to cope for the long term. It will be difficult especially since I currently have a part time and full time job at the moment, but I'll make the most out of it.

In part because of these videos I’ve made it a point to have 10% of every paycheck I get be direct deposited into a money market account so that I don’t even get to see the money being put away. It’s saving the money for later while slowly making more, and since I never see it I never feel its absence.

I actually feel that my buiness classes have been super helpful for life, so much more than advanced algebra and geometry. And those classes that do money stuff, are ELECTIVES, so at least I got them now, thank you dr wolf for helping me realize how lucky I am for this, and boy do I need to plan more! Edit: heck, I don't even have student debt, due to early enrollment, halved my first year of college!

A society only functions if a vast majority of people are doing their jobs (thus it's in everyone's best interest to make sure as many people are in as healthy of a workable condition as possible); this is true of societal civilizations, ecosystems, and personal relationships. Relationships (romantic or otherwise) involve everyone doing their jobs too, whether it's paying bills, doing chores, raising kids, whatever.

I save money by just being very boring. I'm pretty happy just hanging out at home and spending nothing. I do really want a Hellcat though, or that Cybertruck. It's delightfully absurd.

I personally put a majority of my paychecks into my savings, and only keep a small amount for spending. Of course, I do tend to be a bit money-grubby, so I also have a bit of trouble bringing myself to actually spending my spending money, wanting to see how much I can save for if there's ever an emergency, or if my parents ever need to borrow anything from me for any reason. This also puts me in an awkward place as a Christian, as there are occasional moments where I ask myself "should I side with being money-grubby and avoid the material, or do I side with materialism and not have such a tight grip on my money?" I swear, the devil is on *both* sides of that argument!😧

Well I took a great look on this video And this is great advice knowing that I need to maintain a good relationship With my partner Becuz for me I do have a flaw in trying to save money I only have 1% of tempting to buy something for myself But I make miracles for one another And this might be a problem to me I'm an empathy person Once my big bro wanted a book he wanted to read But due the fact it's expensive I decided to make him a miracle after that I gave him 200 in cash of money becuz hey I can't just see anyone frown Though I can say no But In the near future I want to always give miracles to my partner But try to avoid debt But becuz I encountered this video it helped me now know how to do it But I'm still an empathy person How should I limit my miracles How can it be possible??
