Hey ESO was looking at this contemplating picking it up, searched for a video on it, not realising it was yours . .. just clicked on a random one that popped up , then I hear your voice :) watched pretty much all your Skyrim stuff and then some , knowing you had fun with it was enough to make me grab it . Hoping it works well on my Rog Ally too. Always nice to hear your voice , I think I watched so many of your videos your voice is almost therapeutic , like watching an old movie you've seen a hundred times and it just relaxes you :)

who ever did the opening cinematic narration has a very captivating, and haunting voice. I hope they will insert more of these in the game, and threw out the game at points of progression. That would help to make the game seam for epic in my opinion.

I just downloaded and started playing yesterday. I wasn't sure I'm not the biggest fan of survival games, but as im learning how to play this game, I am definitely enjoying myself. It definitely feels more like an adventure game with survival/building mechanics. Definitely for 30 dollars i would say worth it.

FYI the Enshrouded map was initially procedurally generated for development but is now fixed. All players will encounter the same game world design.

5:20 I'd say procedural generation here only applies to the way terrain is filled in and everything else is static. We can imagine it as a set of hand-placed static meshes that are dynamically filled with blocks on demand. So, the map shape is static and there are no procedurally generated locations anywhere in the game. It just stores placement of the presets out of which the terrain is made and biome borders to decide which materials to use to fill the area. Otherwise, the same mesh could be encountered in many places. For example, salt mines to the right from the starting area use the same terrain meshes as the iron mine we find by the quest later with the same terrain formations and same resource veins placement on the same chunks of the terrain. The only difference is the materials used to fill these meshes in (salt and iron for veins, shroud ground for terrain since both are in the shroud). Another example would be caves which use the same set of meshes for rooms. Material depends on the biome, but the shape is static. 15:00 I'd like to mention that using the foundation piece (1) is a waste of resources which are a bit limited early in the game. Floor piece (7) is better for this purpose since you can build 4 out of the same amount of blocks (64 vs. 256). Of course it's a matter of cutting down a few extra trees or collecting a few extra rocks. In the late game this might be relevant for structures made out materials which are hard or annoying to obtain in large quantities.

A Full Play-through/Walk-through would be nice. I would watch it for sure! I don't expect it to be quite as long as your Skyrim Series but would be nice to have a decent playthrough of Enshrouded. Maybe around 30 Videos would be cool and nice to watch. If that is something you are interested in doing.

@@AzureR00k I haven’t tried Enshrouded yet but I’ve logged a good 40-50 hours of palworld and I’ve loved every moment of it. The roadmap they shared also looks very good. I guess it would come down to whether you want a monster catcher shooter or a medieval fantasy.

@@sickcarnagerequiem I have decided to try out Palworld and will consider playing Enshrouded later this year. The deciding factor was the genres you mentioned. I've enjoyed countless Medieval fantasy titles over the years but have never picked up a monster catcher game (including Pokemon) so this will be a brand new experience for me. On a side note you also only have access to 24km of the total 64km map in early access and thats would've been fine if i had seen that up front, i had bg3 from its start in EA and was fine knowing it was only act 1 but not telling me feels shadey But anyone looking to get it i would beat it in signal player first cuz all progression is saved server side and things dont seem to respawn till u restart the server played around in the starting area for about 5 hours(where it sent u to make that base never went over that bridge) and every thing from mobs to tigs never respawnd so i guess in theory you could join a game and oopse i beat it.

i bought valheim this christmas and just "finished" it. i heard of this game a while ago and was interested in comparing it to valheim. thanks for showing. so far this, in comparison to valheim, is way overpriced, feels less immersive (trees vanish, crafting feels too complex for no good reason, you get no animations for picking bushes - feels like they oversimplify immersion logical crafting to add artificial complexity), this lore they crate doesnt feel organic, while valheim brings nice references to the rich norse cosmology, and valheim to me has a more pleasing art aesthetic for being less taxing on ur machine feels valheim has much less but very well thought content (except for the absolutely senseless blood magic leveling system) my biggest complaint abt valheim is the crafting being too grindy again for no good reason, but the experience of crashing my boat next to a swamp and being followed by draugr who walk at the bottom of the sea was very good to compensate, and i also could mod out the problem of grind whenever i felt like it. hope this game will prove competitive against this.

also when i saw the exploration, i felt the map couldnt be procedurally generated, because the lorebooks of some structures refer to structures nearby, and people on comments are confirming my suspicion. not a bad thing, just not said. but maybe this is an rpg with survival elements, rather than a survival with rpg elements, which makes my comparison completely unfair; at the same time more worrysome, because the rpg elements are precisely what i am not convinced of

Is is procedurally generated when you start your world?..... or as I believe the devs ment is that they used a procedural tool when creating the game and then hand crafted on top of that....? I think everyone gets the exact same world though..... not a bad thing

It's not procedurally generated, it's a static world. Same map for everyone. The rationale was that it's a story driven game so they wanted a consistent experience for everyone. I just hope the map is interesting and varied, nothing worse than a static map that's super boring.

Night seems to last about 10 minutes real-time. you will hear a rooster 'call', at dawn, and sunrise is about 1 minute later.

so many things are different between our games (may it be because I play on a PC?) Crafting is completely different and the GLIDER needs something called "Shroud Wood". For BEES - I find that the torch works best (and how the hell do they keep getting into my house?) Enemies in the Bandit area are level 3 and the bandit archers fire THREE arrows.

want 50 METAL SCRAP for nothing more than your time? Head back to CINDER and enter the area with the 'urns' (where you first arrived). Equip a pickaxe ,drink some water and whack them. 30 hits (150 HP) is enough to destroy it and get 5 scrap FROM EACH.

In laymens terms, the map was generated procedurally in house than saved and built upon. Just like oblivions was and most Bethesda games. Its not procedurally generated when you play the game, but was during development then tweaked.
