The best ones in my opinion are the Zebras. They stayed juicy for a long time and the tips were firm. The Karins broke my heart. Half of them were dry and scratchy and no matter how much I shook them, they wouldn’t come back to life. 😢

I had a bad experience with my Karin Decobrush. I had been using them regularly but went dry and had molds. The brush frayed as well. No matter how I shake it, it was dry. I was sad because I love them so much. It was even outlasted by my Kuretake ones.

I stumbled on Zebra Metallic Brush Pen "Shimmering Color" at the drug store. I got the gold/silver/bronze 3-pen set, but later online I saw that there's also a 7-pen set with additionally metallic pink/green/blue/purple. They're fairly easy to control and yield about 1.5 mm upstrokes and 3.5 mm downstrokes. Unfortunately, I don't think one can get the pens individually.

That was fun to watch! Reminded me I bought a cheap set like that one you mentioned, years ago before I knew what brush lettering was, I’ll have to see if they still work. Another one that I think is worth trying is Ohuhu, again, I like to use them and compare them to the ones they knocked off lol. I actually like them as much as my zig metallic. Maybe better because they have so many colors in the pack and also have a mono line marker on the other side.

I bought one metallic Karin marker to try and after a few months it became moldy at the tip- first time that happened to me. I realised I don't use metallics much so I never purchased a bigger set of brush pens. When I feel like making something sparkly, I use metallic watercolours! I highly recommend Coliro and Kuretake. :)

My first time in a Burkes and discovering it was like Ross, I went over to the creative stuff aisle, and I found a 24 box of Rae Dunn dual tip metallic chalk markers for $12 (said $24 normally). The brush tip seems pretty good to me, and the colors are so nice :D says they're made by Enchante accessories. The box is really sturdy so I keep them in it.

Love metallic pens and markers. Always looking out for gold pens and markers though the most. Though I don't own any of these brands in video. Also I didn't know that Tuesday Morning has pens (never had stepped in that store but I've just passed by it)so I'm gonna go check that place out soon! Happy New Year!

Yes!! I always look for gold markers too. I have a video just for gold pens if you’re interested! Tuesday Morning is hit or miss! They have really random pens… sometimes they’re great and sometimes they’re not so great!

I found a beautiful silver metallic brush pen from the Dollar Tree. It's INC brand. For 1.25 you can't beat that!

I have the kuretake ones and they are so juicy, the issue is the nib is too big for me to control the up strokes. Also, I have the GuangNa brush pen but only the blue one and it has a short lifespan but I loved lettering with it! I'm excited for your next vid 🤩🤩

I adore many of these metallic brush pens! My greatest problem with most metallic pens overall is even when allowed to dry overnight, they transfer ink to the opposite page in my journals. Do you find this? They can make quite a mess even when completely dry.😢

I just got the Karin Decobrush pens for christmas and unfortunately as soon as I opened it, one of the colors was already completely dry. Is there anyway I can fix it? I’ve tried shaking it but it hasn’t worked :( great video!

Oh wow! That sounds like a defective one since they’re brand new. I would email Karin markers and ask them what they do about defective markers. You could even send them a picture. You can find their email on their website!

I got metallic brush pens for my birthday (paper mate studio) and I love them but they're SUPER soft and I don't have any black paper that I can use them on 😢

What people are thinking is mold is generally a de-salinization process in the ink formula, so to speak. Still no one wants to use that, but less disgusting. 😆

I bought the Karin ones but I don't know. They came in a metal kinda box with black letters and the black letters are coming of already and the tip of the gold marker is already fraying. I had them for less than a month 🤔😕🤷🏼‍♀️
