You are going to have a journey backtracking through their discography. I really got into them with them album Ruun and Axioma Ethica Odini. I knew the band before but never paid much attention. But AEO is such an epic masterpiece.

This is one of the best examples of alternating clean/growl vocals I've ever heard. And, when it kicks in at 2:20, I kinda wanna break the furniture! An instant metal classic. I am not super familiar with Enslaved's catalog, but they have totally won over a new fan.

Never gonna forget taking a breather sitting at the bar after their set for Psycho Las Vegas and lo and behold, who shuffles up to order shots? The drummer and vocalist, I looked over, told them their ser was amazing and they're tremendous. They cheers'd me. Great memories. 💙🤘

Their US tour with Opeth in 2009 was my first exposure to them, and I was impressed. Like you, during Opeth's set I saw them at the bar, so I congratulated and thanked them. Little did I know-- a couple years later they would release one of my favorite extreme albums ever, Axioma Ethica Odini, and I became a lifelong fan.

You surely know they stopped playing black metal in 2000 when they went proggy with the release of "Mardraum" and that's what they been doing ever since. That's like complaining that Iron Maiden still makes the same music after 40 years.

@@davidblair3845 Disagree. Utgard sounds very different from E. From what we know, so far, I'd say Heimdal sounds similar to Utgard, but I identify plenty of new elements nevertheless. We'll see what the future brings.
