Entanglement Cuts Deep Into Seal's Neck

A piece of rope has cut deeply into a seal's neck. The loop would have slipped right over the head when the seal got entangled a few weeks, possibly months ago. For a while, the rope would have caused no discomfort or pain. But one day, as the seal grew, the rope would have tightened and cut right through his flesh like a razor blade. The rescue team hates having to hurt the animal even more before he can get better.
This seal got lucky when the OCN crew found him far from civilization. Most other marine animals are less fortunate and will succumb to their injuries. 🦭

Love the location, more scenic, but the rocks are so lethal for your team to work. We watch these rescues with bated breath that you don’t slip or fall and get hurt. Then, We cringe, when we see the horrible injuries a thin thread of a fishing line causes the helpless seals. Makes for a suspenseful and exciting rescue for us and a job well done for you. So the entanglement cut deeply, caused the seal to lose weight instead of gaining weight and then made an even deeper wound lower on the seal's body. How horrible! It's so good that she is now free and can heal! Thank you OCN!

Thousands of years of seals waddling over those cliffs have polished them smooth and slippery. Before seals came along, those rocks were jagged and coarse.
