“a lack of empathy and understanding for her side of the story” yes. people HEAVILY demonized jules so badly and acted like she was the only one who made the relationship toxic.
@stephaniel28504 жыл бұрын
I know, I couldn't believe all the comments I was seeing about how awful and toxic Jules was, and how she didn't actually care about Rue but was just stringing her along for the attention :( Even prior to this episode, I thought that was such a harsh and unfair reading of her behavior in s1. I'm so glad this episode exists to show exactly how much that wasn't true! Their relationship, as incredibly sweet and real as their love for each other is, *isn't* healthy right now, but that is definitely not all on Jules. Rue so deeply depending on Jules for her sobriety was way, WAY too much pressure on Jules!
@Nick-mv5kg4 жыл бұрын
So true, even though it’s just a show, people were quick to tear Jules down (I think I was as well) without thinking of what’s happening with her and finding out that Jules felt really bad for leaving even though she had to just get out, really put everything into perspective for me

The fact they needed to add an addicted mom plot because Jules being stocked in a mental hospital as a child, being abandoned by her mom, have her life ruined by the guy she fell in love with (and forced to ruin another guy's life) and carrying the weight of being the reason Rue is sober wasn't enough for people to empathize to her..
