Very Metalcore. Different. But not bad. It is like a rollercoaster of metalcore into deathcore. And god the guitar work is just great. So many different elements as the norm. Something about this song right now. Seems nostalgic and also not. Probably why i like it. It gives me 2000 metalcore vibes with modern deathcore.

I’m 40 years old, been loving music for around 37 years…and I can honestly say this with confidence…..The music I listen today, absolutes destroys most bands what I grew up listening to. I will NOT be that typical “It’s not as good as what I used to listen too” bell end! Embrace Change, Progression & Evolution 👌🏻

I know what you mean mate. As a kid I listened to pop- and techno shit. Then I discovered "heavier" music with listening to Korn, Limp Bizkit, Bush, Deftones (still love them!), and so on... Then my "symphonic metal phase" like Epica, Therion, Nightwish... Then my "emo and Metalcore phase" like Thrice, The Promise Ring, August Burns Red... Now I listen to almost everything - much classical music, some jazz... GOOD pop music (John Mayer, Alexz Johnson...) and still a lot of those bands from before and I am discovering almost every day new bands :)

@Josh R Is In Flames Sense of purpose not Death Metal simply because they added progressive elements and clean vocals. Nope, Still Death Metal. So, at worst, this is Progressive DeathCore. For me, it's a Deathcore band that is searching for the future of their sounds and being very successful. But hey, that's just me, I can appreciate others and may not see it the same way.
@jbranston Жыл бұрын
@@connorm9487 That’s a completely fair point man. I’d for sure still consider In Flames as melodeath on Sense Of Purpose. I think it’s just the vocal style in the chorus of this track that makes me think metalcore. Don’t get me wrong, I still really like this track but it sounds much different than I expected from EE. It reminds me a little of Invent Animate (great band if you haven’t heard of them already) which caught me off guard but as long as they’re doing what they love, I’ll always be a fan.
