That woman literally said in her own interview (look for the interview here on KZbin) that she only befriended Anna cause Anna had a big social media following. Not just a socialite but of the shallowest possible kind, the 21st century kind, where it’s all about how big a social media following you have and nothing about what kind of actual person you are. The new socialites are exactly these shallow fashion editors who only befriend people if they have over X amount of followers on Instagram. Not to mention that someone who dishes out 60k on a hotel bill wasn’t exactly a pauper either. Any other person, any average Joe, would have said no to handing their credit card in (when Anna did her thing) for the simple fact that they literally have no funds, and no credit cards with that kind of roof. Also don’t get me started on who gets fashion editing jobs these days, usually and almost always without fail, fiy it’s the children of the elites. I have a sister who is an Arts curator, I know the Arts and fashion world all too well. The only time my sister managed to get a decent job in the industry was when the employer realized that they were cousins. My family is middle class, but it just so happens that this one distant cousin is wealthy so she finally got her chance, after years of looking and whilst being ridiculously overqualified to most of the gigs she got before. Point being, this so called friend of Anna’s was no destitute bish, and as far as the shallowness goes, she falls exactly into the category that I describe above.
