The love story of Iman and Bowie is one of the greatest love stories of all time. They loved each other as much after 20 years of marriage, as they did at the start. Even now, Iman grieves and calls Bowie her forever husband, saying that she will never marry again. True love is such a beautiful thing, and I'm so damn happy they got to experience it, as tragic as it is when death separated them, the love itself will never die.
@lynnehuff96592 жыл бұрын
So sweet, you put it beautifully. I heard that Iman said she thinks of David every minute of every day. Isn't it wonderful that she has Lexi, and that her father got to enjoy her for, I think sixteen years?
@Ashbash-kf5xd Жыл бұрын
Have you ever seen the tour she does of their house? It’s beautiful. She said she moved back to the house to be protected from Covid, but did not want to stay because it was too sad without him. But she then said “But then I felt him. He’s here. He’s here with me everyday, and that’s when I realized he’s still so much a part of this house and so much a part of my life, that this is where we are together, so his things are still here, because this is still his home too, and when I go, then we will leave this house together” She has his clothes still hung in the closet, his music notes still on the piano. All of it. You are beyond blessed in this life to receive even a portion of that kind of love. And that is an eternal love.

They were married for over 20 years and even now, if you watch videos of Iman and how she talks about him, you can tell that this was true love, the kind you only experience once in your life. It's so unfair he had to leave so soon. These two truly deserved to grow old together.
@sinsitysinderella79010 ай бұрын
You are right, they should have had many more years to enjoy one another
@Stardust_72738 ай бұрын
It’s truly unfair. She still calls him her only husband and wears a gold necklace with his name. They remind me so much of my parents. My dad was from England, they were married 35 years, and he died from cancer at age 59. They were soulmates. My mom never even dated after he died. She told me once that she would never want to share a bed again, she would rather have it empty than have someone else in it. I adore David, and I love Iman for keeping him so happy all those years. Most true Bowie fans feel the same way. She still posts about him on her Facebook, she keeps his memory alive. He is forever her husband and that is so beautiful.

Not seen many show biz stars who have matched that commitment to build value into their private life, and family unit.
@themaggattack3 жыл бұрын
Yes, and she naturally inspired and motivated him to keep that commitment. He adored her. She's fun, smart, beautiful, respectful of herself and others, regal yet down to earth... she is the woman, truly beautiful both inside and out, that he'd only hoped existed. When he wrote "Be My Wife"... he hadn't met her yet, but she's who he was hoping for. So when he found her, he cherished her. It was easy for him to give up whatever drugs or people that weren't good for him. He'd been there, done that. So had she. They leveled up together. As a long time David Bowie enthusiast, I would just call him "irreligious". He was a Satanist in his early 20s (esoteric occult spirituality), then he got into Buddhism, and he espoused Atheistic sentiments in the late 70s. By the time he met Iman I don't think he cared about religion, and Iman is a heterodox Muslim. Their relationship had nothing to do with religion. Iman believes in God and Bowie didn't care about the subject.

@vixen49058 жыл бұрын
+mickavellian you make some bold claims...Iman would have a say in what happened to their child, and being agnostic does not rule out baptism. Lazarus does indeed have his story told in the bible, but represents life after death and can be mentioned as an allegory. You cannot possibly judge what Bowie had in mind, or make definitive judgements about anyone else's beliefs. +GOLDEN OX - Ha! I've just decided 10 days out from the news, not to accept that he's passed away. And that is that. Don't try to talk me out of it. I love Iman. I love their marriage. I feel deeply for his children. Notthat he's dead, mind you. I decline to accept that.

In 1972 or '73, a NYC deejay announced that fans could see Bowie off at the pier just before sailing back to England on the Queen Elizabeth II. A few of us went and were shocked that hardly anyone else was there. I was amazed that we were able to stand around with him and talk, and even more amazed that he was warm, friendly, genuine, and humble. Still can't believe it really happened.

Iman is actually doing good stuff with bowies legacy, and that's kinda impresssing considering how most music widows just care about the money... Also i kinda find nice that david got a beautiful black woman as a wife comsidering how much he did for the black people

@Cheryle Hunter One example doesn't a crusader make, but one example that comes to mind is that in 1983, 2 years after its launch, he questioned an MTV VJ on air as to why they didn't play more music from black artists. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jouqmomwftdrh8k

@Cheryle Hunter Very true. This and Bowie's inquiry can (and should) logically coexist.

Dang- he was quite the family man. To say, if he had to choose between career and what he and Iman shared there'd be no choice- just melts my heart. I fell in love with David in 1973 watching Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars at the age of 8. He's always done it for me in a kind of profound way. So I think I'm saying, I'm just super happy and moved by the love he found and shared, with Iman.
