My Casio F-91w survived nearly a year of non-stop beating, as a healthcare worker there were times I barely removed the watch and washed it down with tons of soap, water, alcohol, even iodine and cidex. It survived it all and still keeps on trucking, its even cleaner than myself during the start of the pandemic.

A friend once house-sat for me for a few days. When I returned, I thanked him, he headed back off to the other side of Oz - and I realised after a few days I could not find my alarm clock - the old hand-wound with bells on top etc. Had my friend really pinched my alarm clock? I would have given it to him... A couple of months later, I flipped my mattress over, as you do, and there in the middle on the base was my alarm clock, the winding keys of which had punctured my mattress base. I rang my friend and discovered he could not find anywhere in the flat where it could not be heard ticking while he slept, so he buried it in the bed.

My blights with the f91w: 1. The light is so worthless it might as well not exist 2. The ability to adjust the time is found when scrolling through the modes. Makes it far too easy to accidentally reset the seconds. 3. The light button is the same as resetting the stopwatch. So hope you don’t gotta time anything in the dark.
@ayandey1377 ай бұрын
Thats just hatin What would you even time in the dark? How long you last?
@JRTL202537 ай бұрын
@@ayandey137 you do it in the dark? What the wife ain’t pretty enough? Being able to use the stop watch after dark is useful for one very simple reason that should be obvious for someone with half a brain cell. The functionality of the watch (let alone a digital watch) shouldn’t be cut in half just because the sun goes down. For example, running. When running it is useful to use a stopwatch to track your pace time and when the sun isn’t up it’s almost impossible to see the display. But not that your fat keyboard warrior ass has that problem.

Re cheap Casio straps - I replace them with inexpensive velcro straps from random Chinese brands on Amazon. A little filing of the hard plastic strap-ends makes them fit nicely.
@kutter_ttl6786 Жыл бұрын
Cheap NATO straps, and I mean CHEAP like the cheapest ones you can get, also work. The material is thin enough that it will work with casio digitals like the F91.
@AlexSwanson-rw7cv Жыл бұрын
@@kutter_ttl6786 True, but by running under the watch they also add bulk, and unless you do some cutting on a wider strap they look too narrow for the watch. The velcro ones don't run under the watch, and the hard plastic ends have shoulders so the strap width looks a lot better on the watch.
I'm confused as to why the f91 is put on a pedestal. For me the w 86 is worth a few pounds more and has a size that looks better on an adult wrist, it has a clearer display, better water resistance and a back light that you can actually read. W 86 all the way!

A brilliant sideways glance at the watches that suck in the style of the late, great Douglas Adams. I'm not sure about the comment on the venerable F-91W though as I don't get the punge of an ostriches balloon knot after it's done a 1500M sprint in heat that the sun would feel cool in. The strap has however developed a knack of growing a pale cotton wool inner strap that has to be trimmed more often than my beard. It also seems to move during the night somehow crawling to the night stand on the other side of the bed leaving a trail of said cotton wool to trace its journey. Definitely microwave fish in the works kitchen thought, it stinks terrible when done at home. All said I'm so primitive that I still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea though.

I like the dial The Bel Canto very much, especially the blue one but, with all do respect for the wearers, +/- 20 seconds is a lot and imo, the 'shime' is not that of a complication in this case. But that's my humble opinion.
@brownbear100 Жыл бұрын
I really like it, and the renders of the purple and black look great even if they are less impressive in the real life pictures. But for the price, it has to be more than a cool looking watch, you have to really want the complication. That's where the money is going. I'm still not sure. I really, really like the idea of the song bird marking time as a step back from minute watching. But it would be a guilty pleasure for occasional use in my case. Which means setting that time more often on the tiny dial. I have the same movement in my C60, which cost me under £600 12 months ago. And the one thing that does bug me about it is the more than +1 minute per week with my particular copy. But really, in a watch that sets reading the time as a low priority, is being a little out so bad? I understand the reason for the movement was that it was thinner and could fit the complication on top without being too thick. For this watch I think it's acceptable.
