Miss the old videos and david attenboroughs voice was of course always a pleasure to hear. But I still really like the videos and you made a really good replacement voice! My only suggestion would be, that the voice feels a bit like it is narrating a movie or audiobook. Thats absolutely fine, if it is the direction you want to go. I however liked the curious but detached way the previous voice sounded. It was like a friendly school teacher with grandpa vibes giving you a lecture about things so far out of reach and fucked up(thinking of 'Making of a Servitor') that it is more a curiosity of the w40k reality and less the epic war games of civilizations maybe far way, but still tangible. I loved just playing it in the background while doing chores or having a break from work. With that being said, please keep doing what you do, you found a niche and I am really looking forward to having you and maybe others explore the possibilities of generative AI assisted story telling.

Good lore video as always! I kept thinking this AI voice was familiar, then I realized it sounds eerily similar to the voice actor in the beginning of Treasure Planet. I do miss the Attenborough voice, but this is a great replacement.

You're thinking of Tony Jay. Super famous voice actor from (mostly) the '90s. Also did the voice of Frollo(the villain) from The Disney Hunchback of Notre Dame, As well as numerous other cartoons. I love the new voice, but I would hate for the channel to have another issue with the AI.

This version has a good compromise between "40K gravitas" and "gentle commentary". You're definately honing in on something great! I'd say you're pretty much there imho.

I love the idea of a hard-line xenophobic enclave that worships a deity. I just don't like that it's implied that this a Tau deity. It undermines the secular nation of the faction which is so much fun to have in a universe filled with gods and magic. It's not all lost though, GW could merely imply that this Tau deity could actually be a C'Tan messing with the Tau and everything tracks again.

What? Tau doesn't know how to warp travel, their abilities in terms of travelling through long distances in the Galaxy is extremely limited. Plus the Imperium is so much stronger in terms of manpower, if Imperium wouldn't have to fight so many foes in so many places they would anihiliate the Tau forces in a matter of weeks.

I am so glad that the Attenborough voice is gone as it was/is so overused by many that it feels like some religious indoctrination or people forced to eat al the same food. But fatalistic fans seem to loath diversity and prefer mono culture like in populist environments. Anyway... I was pondering about the Tau and their history and wonder if the Ethereals were probably a result of that warp storm as I find the 'coincidence' that they came out of thin air around the same time as the storm disappeared hard to swallow. That's of course just a speculation based on a hunch. Most entities in the 40K universe tend to be quite unkind to other species. But who knows? Maybe a more playful on of those entities wanted to see how far you can evolve an insignificant, small species and can grow it to the other players in the galaxy before they might drawn the attention to be crushed by using the Ethereals as their puppet strings to control their race through them. The use of the AL-38 sliptsream module was maybe born out of desperration as they were trapped between some of the largest factions Tyranid, Necrons, etc. I wonder if the fourth sphere event was inspired by the movie 'Even Horizon' and the Doom games or vice versa, I don't know the years how those all came into existance and could overlapped. Nonetheless, the result to the fourth sphere disaster and how the time in the warp warped the Tau of that circle forever as they got xenophobic and 'fit' much more into the general xenophobic mindset of this universe by massacring prisoners and so disturbing one of the key aspects of Tau strength through diversity. I am sure this experience will carry long lasting effects not just through their society but the Ethearals as well, depending on who controls here who and who pulls strings behind the curtains, like e.g. that many armed entity which the fourth sphere encountered, if any does. Who knows? Maybe that many armed entity was the entity which created long time before the Ethereals on the Tau homeworld and they just got a glimpse on the puppeteer which played with their race since the original warp storm? Just some thoughts from someone who's not a deep 40K junkie but fascinated enough to have it on the radar. I still believe that some factions are absolutely, insanely OP, on the very top the Tyranids as they are a manifestation of THE most primal urges of 'life': hunger. But that makes them in some way an oxymoron as they carry in this fact their own seed of destruction as they eventually WILL starve. Which let me often think that they were probably created as weapon system by an old devoured race, like the doomsday machine in Star Trek or the Aliens which we know inspired the Tyranids in the first place. I think the Necrons are on number two of that list but I don't know yet enough about them to be completely sure. But they are also OPAF for sure. Well, I always keep in mind that the whole GW universe was build from various pop culture, mostly movie influences all all kinds and so many people were involved that all such patchwork designs are to various degrees unbalanced and illogical. But it is still interesting to see how they try to keep this balancing mess from falling apart over all the years and the nice 'creep factor' of this nihilistic AF world of horror is always neat for some entertaining moments, might that be spookie stories or games. Luckily this is after all just a brain fart from some naked aped with aggression management issues and not reality. Let's enjoy some games/stories. :)
