Today's video is definitely a lengthy one, so I hope you grab your favourite beverage, get cosy, and relax as I walk you through my makeup collection and show you the items I am letting go. At the end of the video, I also discuss my final reflections on decluttering in our lives overall.
I would like to think I have a curated and realistic makeup collection and that my makeup choices are deliberate and thoughtful, but as you can see, I definitely have my weak spots. I really treasure the items I have and am keeping, and I hope to keep my collection contained to this bag throughout 2023!

You have such beautiful blushes! The Makeup By Mario formula really is gorgeous. And I really enjoy the way you always combine all your different colors. You come up with the most unexpected combinations and you are so good at combining those bright colors. And your eyeshadow collection is to die for! I’d love to hear you talk more about the specifics of the formulas, especially the byredo since I’ve never tried any of their shadows. But they look intriguing. I think that Surratt quad really has my hear though - it’s been on my wish list for years! 😂 Yes - those MAC paint pots last forever. I use mine several times a week and it has lasted me for what seems like forever. Those Violette_FR Yeux paints also look interesting. This was so much fun! It was great to get a glimpse into your makeup kit. You’ve done a beautiful job curating it.

Thank you so much! The Makeup by Mario blushes are SO, so beautiful. Do you own any of them? Oooh yes, I'll try and do that in future videos! That's definitely something I forget to do and I tend to just focus on the colours rather than the textures. The Byredo palettes are interesting as each shade offers its own unique texture and formula. But yes, Surratt Beyond Beige is definitely the black sheep of the bunch. It looks the most basic and lifeless but it has SO much to offer! I am convinced that that MAC Paint Pot will outlive me. And the Violette Fr Yeux Paints are certainly unique and are by far the most long-lasting shadows I own. I'm so glad you had fun! Yes, I own the Pale Petal Blush by Makeup By Mario and it's beautiful - color, finish, longevity: it's the whole package. When you said you went swimming in the ocean with those Violette FR Yeux Paings, I swear my beach bunny ears perked up. I might have to try one someday. If you could only recommend one color, which one would you choose?

@@TheStyleStumbler Ah! Love Pale Petal. It's such an amazing blush! Ooooh... That's a very tough choice! The ones I reach for the most are Scarabée d'Or and Rose d’Aurore. Rose d’Aurore is especially beautiful and surprisingly versatile-if you use it on its own, it makes for a beautiful wash of pink and you can easily create sophisticated pink smoky eye with it since it has so much depth. And Scarabée d'Or is fun since it's a mix of green and gold. I love using that one as a graphic liner! I feel like either of those colours would look absolutely stunning on you. ❤️

That's so funny you say that as I rarely watch declutter videos either. 😂I knew I wanted to film a video showing my collection, but I also had some items I knew I wanted to let go, so I figured I'd combine both! I had a very hard time letting go of anything in the past. I used to even keep things like birthday cards from many years ago! And aww, I would LOVE to have a cat! 🥰

It's interesting to think you have so much blush yet there isn't much overlap. You love a wine/burgundy though, don't you haha. Maybe i can get you to try Pat's cherish or Rituel de Fille's orange-- wasp? Hornet? in the new year. Those kinds of tones would just sing on you. I could never be as minimal as you when it comes to eyeshadow-- I love color so much, quads could never be all I need. But then I have only one red lipstick, one nude matte, one nude gloss, one clear and so on then you're over here with a capsule collection of just lippies hahaha. It's so cute how everyone has their niche.

this is the channel/content i need right now to keep me on my more mindful path in 2023! i was doing well until this past week where my makeup-loving mind started thinking about things on my wishlist again. i think my upcoming birthday, sales and gift credits to be used have something to do with it :) really impressed that you've edited your wardrobe and makeup collection so well already. that's another goal for me this year that i'd like to get through or make significant progress on. do you just toss the makeup you're decluttering and donate the clothes? i wish i had close friends to pass products onto, it would be easier to say goodbye knowing they are going to new homes! ps clearing clutter is great for energy. holding onto things we don't need or use is actually a negative affirmation so it's great you're letting go of more! i went thru the same w/friendships and embraced it more and more as time went on :D

I can totally relate! I think with the change of seasons, my shopping brain has been on extra alert and is wanting some new makeup and clothing. Some makeup I do have to toss (like old lipsticks), but if it's still in good shape, then I'll pass it onto my mum usually! And yeah, I'll either sell the clothes on Poshmark or donate them. I've found decluttering so satisfying, but there was a point in the past that I overdid it, which led to more spending later on. Thankfully, I've now found more of a balance and am pretty happy with my wardrobe and makeup for the most part, but I still experience intense cravings from time to time. 😂 Decluttering friendships was really hard for me at first, but in the end it was so freeing! So glad to hear you can relate to that as well. xxx

@@bornblushing the biggest test for me will be the Fall/Holiday season when the best makeup releases come out (imo.) my hope is to fall in love with more of what i already have so the temptation won’t be as strong by then hehe. i think w/o gift cards, credits and sales, the temptation also wouldn’t be as prevalent 😂 i was playing with the idea of “if i wouldn’t but it full price i could skip it on sale” but that’s not always easy. it’s like the longer you wait the better some sales get lol.

@@hijennwu I totally agree with you. Changes in the weather and sales get to me as well. It's really hard to follow the full price philosophy sometimes because some sales feel too good to resist! Hopefully we can both build up more restraint as time goes on. It is difficult to not be excited by newness!

The Surrat Beige quad is on my wishlist for this year and you have me thinking about some of those Byredo palettes! I've loved using it lately, especially for trying to achieve a smoky eye! And I totally agree with you about black lipstick. It can be so flattering and make such a cool statement! I'm determined as well! I tried it again today and went heavier on the black. I am not used to seeing myself with so much dark eye makeup on, but I do think it looks better since it appears more deliberately dark. Hopefully we master it at some point! ♥️

Thanks for asking! Foundations: Sisley, Chantecaille and Chanel no.1...new addition Haus Labs Concealer: Cle de Peau and Chanel Sublimage. Bronzer: Gucci. Blushes (cream) Cle de Peau, Phytosurgence toasted blushes, (powder) Suqqu, PM, Armani Lips: Armani, Chantecaille...not in love with DVN like everyone else is, but surprised how much I like Valentino. Eyes: assortment of quads/quints from Dior, Suqqu, Surrat, Cle de Peau, Burberry, TF creme formula, plus a couple of ND midis, but limit myself to 10 total. VB and Hourglass liners. Caliray mascara. Brows: Gucci pencil, Dior and Hourglass tinted gels.

Oh, and powders are Rev de Camille highlighter, Chantecaille finishing powder and WA for under eye ... I really don't use powders on the daily, though. I appreciate the sentiments you expressed at the end. Definitely resonates.

Hey lovely .. loved this 🤗 I love the WA super loaded and yeah can get away with just wearing them no blush or bronzer.. and I prefer the lit sticks to the blushes .. the mario blushes looked lovely and dewy.. do you think they are more moisturising than WA? That Sisley concealer is beautiful bern using mine again as I put it away and forgot about it… I had the Chanel stick blush in 20 ages ago and it’s lovely .. hope you’re doing well .. see ya soon xxx

Hi Michelle! Hope you and Charlotte are keeping well. 🥰 We share lots of favourites! I do think that the Mario blushes are more moisturizing than the Westman Atelier ones. They are a lot more dense when you touch them (the Westman Atelier ones soften a lot more easily in heat for example), but on the skin they're very dewy, pigmented, and long lasting. They're definitely my top choice and I find them great for my dry, dehydrated, rosacea skin type. ❤ The Sisley concealer is sooo good, isn't it? Just love that one. Always works well and makes covering dark circles so easy! The Chanel blush stick is such an old classic! I love it so much. Thanks so much for watching! Catch you and Charlotte soon! 🥰😘

Hi Leslie! There isn't any particular reason why I don't own any Dior right now. I've used their Backstage Face and Body foundation in the past and enjoyed it but never repurchased it.
