At this point I think showing who the "influencer" is would be a public service. The nail tech exchange was shows how morally bankrupt and obnoxious the "influencer" is. The working Mom who does nails (which is not artistically easy) so she can balance being a full time parent and generate income should be applauded. That's the kind of REAL INFLUENCE women should have. Not a lazy, entitled, attention seeker who offers nothing but make believe pictures and videos about the life she wishes she had. After Miss Influencer loses favor among the disposable "Insta-Celeb" community - the lovely Nail Tech Mom will still be going strong and successfully running her business and her life.

@ThatOneGeekyFamilytoo2 жыл бұрын
As the daughter of a "nail tech" I found that last one SOOOOOOO insulting. I am proud of my mother and most of my friends were very jealous of me growing up. Nail techs are both artists and honestly can save your life because they are trained to notice certain health conditions that show symptoms in the nails, hands and feet. So my mother got to enjoy her science nerd side and her artistic side (she's a south paw). And BTW, that nail tech should raise her prices. That is WAY underselling her skill! Especially if she does specialty designs.
@paveladamek35022 жыл бұрын
Besides, it was coming from a person who actually WANTED to have nails done. Maybe I would expect this ignorance from an Alaskan logger ("why do women need nails"), but insulting a profession whose services you actually need is not insulting, it is outright stupid.

they are embarrassed - their ego is crushed so they have to back peddle to "save their dignity" - only at that point it's too late, they have already disrespected the artist just by asking. I've only ever been contacted by one influencer/blogger. She placed her order, and once she received it and was happy with it, she asked me if I was ok with her promoting the product because I'd probably get a bunch of orders and she wanted to make sure I was able to handle it since the items are handmade. I said sure, no problem, and got thousands in business in the following months. This is how they should be!

Husband and I saw an influencer in the wild the other day. We were at a new locally owned restaurant, woman and her date sat near us. They ordered drinks and a lot of food for two people, she kept taking pictures of everything and after they ate she asked for the manager. She then tried to get the manager to comp everything for her posting on her SM. The manager said thanks but no thanks we currently don't do that kind of thing. The influencer's date excused himself to restrooms, as the server brought the bill. He apparently dipped out and left her sitting there with a nearly $400 bill. She had to get several friends and her dad to send money to her cash-app and she put part of it on 3 different CC's. We stayed for the whole show, we had to Uber home because we kept ordering drinks to go with the show. My husband tipped both our waitress and hers, because she didn't/couldn't tip.

My husband & I had an independent franchise for over 20 years & watched as social media became such a big impact on society. Considering we had a business no one really enjoyed coming to (car repair facility) we were so proud as our FB page actually reached over 11k followers by the time we sold it in 2021. Not one time did we ever ask to collaborate with another business in exchange for free items. We did, however, loved posting & tagging new local businesses we found in our area. It could be anything from a local ice cream shop, restaurant, odds & ends store, ect. If we liked it, we wanted to help especially those just starting up. We never thought it would do much but if it happen to reach a few people, then hopefully those people would do the same for that business, and so on and so on. I feel like that 80s Faberge shampoo commercial 😄 Anyways, moral of the story, you should never do something for someone cause you expect something in return. Somehow, the bucks are bigger when they're coming out of their pocket than when they're going into the other party's.

Yesss I couldnt agree more. I remember when I was negotiating a price for a car at a dealership and it got down to a difference of only $150 (on a $30,000 car) the price i said i would pay he came back with +$150 and I said “no I told you would pay for it at this price final offer.” He said “your going to walk out of here over a $150?” i said “your going to let me walk out of here over $150 when you’re still making profit, losing nothing and getting another car off your lot?” So he eventually gave in. I always thought about that when someone says “its only whatever amount” like do you not realize I can say the exact same thing to you?! Not to mention in this car situation its a lot different where he would lose a lot more by not going down $150 and still make tons of profit, get another sale, car off his lot or nothing. Compared to me where Im paying thousands of dollars or an extra $150 or just going somewhere else to buy.

You should try it once. You don't have to get your nails completely done with a full manicure but the hand / wrist massage that is usually included is pure heaven; especially if you do a lot of typing or writing.

yeah you got it Charlotte, the alternating caps text conveys sarcasm. It originated with the sarcastic spongebob meme. Absolutely, contracts and non-refundable deposits are a must! It weeds out the people who just want to freeload off of you, or are not serious about finishing a commission. I'm from Massachusetts and depending on your state, even something as simple as a text or email can establish the intent of the agreement and can be used as a legally binding contract, complete with federal and state protections, penalties, and costs.

This hysterical thing happened to me, my sister and a group of friends in NYC. We made a reservation at this trendy restaurant under my sisters first name and secured a reservation sooner than we thought possible. When we arrived, they put us at the best table in the restaurant. We were very confused but then quickly surmised her name must be a pseudonym for someone well known. They referred to her as Allison Allison! 😂😂 It was awkward at first but we had a blast and tipped generously.

Oooh grrrrrr! I watch these all the time (love your videos! Been binging them while I work this week!) and the entitled ones always get me riled up, but that last gal who tried to shame the nail tech by saying her kids would be embarrassed by her 🤬🤬🤬 OH that makes my blood boil!! Just zero integrity and/or sense of reality! I could never speak to someone that way … This lady is working hard to provide for her kids AND gets to stay home and raise them, which I know from personal experience is such a huge blessing, especially for a single mama! It goes by so fast… those kids don’t care what their mom does for a living, all they will remember is that she was THERE, on the daily. So many moms would kill for that! I loved the way she responded, but I sure hope she didn’t give it a 2nd thought afterwards… a conversation like that will stick with you for life!

😂 Exposure ONLY works for influencers. It's fully useless to show a restaurant, or any service, to thousands of Non locals whom aren't going to state hop, province hop, Country hop to go have a panini. They just can't think past their nose. 😂

I have seen the best response from a business when an influencer claimed that they will get x number of new customers from their "exposure": the deal was the influencer would pay for the service and would be given a coupon code to give out. When some number (I think it was 5) coupons are used at the business, the influencer would get a refund. Brilliant.

I don't think I will ever understand how those people brains' work. "I want free stuff for exposure to my 3k followers", or arguing about 15$ book?! I see similar things in the art comunity - people expecting comissions or hand-made stuff in general to be extremely cheap. For example: last week I discoveres in my neighbourhood a shop with handmade chrochet items. I noticed a cute crochet unicorn in the window, so I walked in, asking if it is for sale. And the lady was so defensive, asking me if I like hand-made stuff i=and if I am sure I want it, and then she shyly told me that the unicorn would be 25$ (approximately as I do not live in US, so the price was in different currency). Turns out that people were coming into her shop and argue with her that the stuff she is making is too expensive. It made me feel awful. I did buy the unicorn though, plan to visit the shop more and I also recommended the shop to my friends :)
