I waited on a table for Benjamin Bratt at a restaurant in Brisbane, Australia once. I was polite, and apart from saying, "I love your work," I respectfully treated him like every other customer. He appreciated the 'normality' so much, that after the meal he said he had a great time, and he took a group photo with the staff and we talked *Demolition Man* lines and *Law & Order* impersonations for about ten minutes! He's one of the coolest, most down to earth celebrities alive.

Never forget you're only getting half the story in things like this. A few years ago the wrestler Randy Orton was "exposed" for being rude to a young fan. Everyone was upset until Randy addressed it on a podcast that the kid (12 years old) and his dad spotted him in the bathroom at an arena and kept pestering him for pictures after Randy had told the both of them he would take them outside because it was really inappropriate to ask in the bathroom. The kids dad kept telling the kid it was okay, to just take the picture anyway. The kid proceeded to stand there with his phone out staring at Randy and repeatedly asking until finally Randy told them to get out and then never took the pictures. So yeah, Randy doesn't look like such a bad guy now.

Randy has become a target for fans, you hear about it quite often about how fans are constantly rude to him and when he snaps everyone paints him as the bad guy. Wrestlers unfortunately are easy pickings for idiots on the internet looking for the 'this person was mean to me' clout, because even though we all know it's pre-determined, wrestlers are seen as 'superheroes' for many people, and those same people post rubbish online when their interaction doesn't go a certain way. Randy isn't innocent of douchebaggery but most of the time the fans know how to push the buttons to get a reaction to then post online. It's pathetic.

That's not part of their job. Their job is acting, singing, modeling and also promoting their projects. I understand if you meet them at a convention/concert meet & greet etc, where they're actually working. But no matter what, they're just people doing a job they love and that other people get to watch/listen and love as well. She is still a literal stranger to Lili Reinhart so its bizarre to rate her 4/10 for being "a little standoffish". Or did you get something for your money? Exactly. Similarly, a lot of people feel like youtubers should be responding to them. They don't owe it to you to ever look at the comments, tbpfh. I can not stand this “rating celebs I've met”. They are forcing on them the pressure to always be willing to say hi, take a picture, chat with them, or even go with whatever thing they wish them to do. People need to understand that they don't “owe” their fans what they've accomplished. Supposedly you, as a fan, enjoy whatever they do to entertain you. Whatever action you take to support them monetary is your appreciation for what they do and not a compensation for buying you any right over them. At the same time, as an artist/celeb you don't owe your fans, but bad personalities or actions are just going to make you lose what you've obtained through your art/talent. So no, they don't need to be smiling all the time. Nor do they have to be willing to take a picture with you just because you ask for it. Just as you may have an awful day, just as you may suffer depression, anxiety or whatever type of pain (for example cramps) SO CAN THEY. The difference is that you are not famous and nobody is talking shit behind your back on the internet because the day you felt like crap you didn't smile on a picture.

Also Lily has spoken publicly about having anxiety/her mental health, maybe she was overstimulated and needed a break. While some people obviously are foul to their fans, sometimes the fans are the issue. Why would someone want a photo taken when you know its going to get posted, everyone will see it and you'll end up ambushed? Personally, I would never take photos, but be down to chat, time permitted. Last thing, then rant over...artists (actors, musicians, etc.) don't owe you shit. The second they finished their performance, their obligation to the contract holder was done. You already got all you deserved when you watched their art and got to be entertained. To be honest. I do believe some celebs can actually be just plain rude. But I have a hard time believing it if the opinion/story is from a fan (being a fan of many myself). Taylor seems really nice in my opinion and i’m not even her fan. Because fans tend to get really invasive with celebs and not often respecting their space. And often celebrities are really busy and tired because of a tight schedule which can be the reason Taylor didn’t have time to meet the fan. About Noah centineo. You know how you get certain vibes from someone and that’s enough to push you away from them? That’s how i feel about Noah. I’ve watched his acting in TATBILB and the fosters and never liked him because even through his acting i got weird and arrogant vibes from him. Selena gomez, never got a bad vibe from her. Even though i haven’t met her i really wish i could meet her because she seems so nice.

The day I read the first article about the accusations against him, it all came together. I just feel bad for his victims. I feel like Lindsay Lohan is really entitled too. Like I get she went through family trauma and stuff, but she just comes off to me as somebody who expects everybody to love and emulate her no matter what she does. And conversely there's definitely famous people I feel like are so humble and kind even though I've never met them; like Hillary Duff, basically all of SKZ and MX, Meghan Trainor, and David Archuleta.

I was thinking the same thing. I feel like when a celebrity is just out doing normal day-to-day stuff (like running errands or buying groceries) that fans need to respect their privacy and leave them be. On the flip side, if that same celebrity is all dolled up and clearly embracing their celebrity status, then approaching them for a photo is fair game. Let’s pretend for a moment that being a celebrity is like working a customer service job for a very busy & popular store. Imagine you’re at work, you’re dressed in uniform, and finally finished your 8+ hour shift. You’re tired/hungry, and looking forward to your evenings plans. However upon clocking out, you attempt to leave the store when a customer (recognizing your uniform) stops to ask you for assistance because none of your co-workers are available to help them… How do you respond? Do you take the extra time to help them or refuse because your shift has ended? Whatever you answer will depend greatly on the type of person you are and the mood you are in. And if that same customer had approached you just 15 minutes (or, two hours) earlier - while still “on the clock” - would your answer or, your behaviour, toward said customer be the same or different? At least, this is how I imagine it. 🤷🏼♀️

@@ellevonk.2925 exactly. I don’t want to be bothered about my job in my time off, when I’m trying to relax or I’m in a bad mood or I’m mid thought. Yeah. To me, it doesn't feel right to bother them and 'rate' them based on random encounters (outside official fan meetings, when the celebrity is 'at work'). I notice that in these ratings, 10/10 is basically the celebrity acting all attentive like they are in a host club. Which I do not believe is a fair expectation. Honestly, I wouldn't be suprised if a part of the bad encounters were just the celebrities' patience (with having to treat everyone abnormally nice all the time) running out.

Surprisingly, he said Bob Saget was also very sweet and funny with fans, and even refused when given the chance to skip the line for a ride because he didn't think it was fair since he didn't have a "fast-pass". RIP, Bob Saget! The ugliest was Morgan Fairchild, who got angry at him because he DIDN'T treat her like a queen, he just avoided her. She did the whole, "Don't you know who I AM??!" He simply said, "Yes, I know who you are." and continued to make the repairs he was there to do. He said Eddie Van Halen was horrible to the staff that were there to help him during an appearance at Disneyland, and very rude to fans. That was disappointing. ☹

The thing about celebrities is that people set different boundaries for them than other people. It’s considered normal to keep tabs on celebrity gossip. To use their faces as icons. To “ship” them with other people. To know intimate details about them and their loved ones. To know where they are and what they’re doing. But if half of these things happened to a regular, everyday person, these behaviors would be considered stalkerish and creepy. When did we start believing that celebrities owed us anything outside of the services they provide? Of course I’m not saying celebrities can’t be rude. But one bad meeting does not equate to them being a bad person. So often celebrities are harassed by entitled fans that think they are owed something. People seem to forget that celebrities are humans, too. Maybe they just need a break. Imagine what it must be like to be judged for EVERYTHING YOU EVER DO.

I've met numerous celebrities in my lifetime and never understood how fans get so over-the-top excited, like screaming and fainting and whatnot. At the end of the day, they're just people like you and I, they just have more money. Most of the celebs I've met have been very chill. I'll share my two favorite encounters. When I was 17, I won VIP passes plus a backstage experience for a Weird Al concert from writing in to ALTV on MTV. He was legit the most down-to-earth guy I've ever met in my entire life! We jammed out backstage for nearly two hours after his show. It was completely amazing! But that's not even the best part. About a decade later, I snagged some front row tickets to a show he was doing in a city I was vacationing in. He was passing the microphone around during one of his more popular songs and letting the audience sing along. I got passed the mic during this and sang a few of the next lines and then passed the mic to the lady next to me. After he came out for his second encore and the audience was getting ready to leave, a security guy came up and tapped me on the shoulder. I thought I had done something wrong or he was about to take my camera, but instead, he asks me to follow him backstage because I was randomly chosen for a meet and greet. I was like, "Cool!" and followed. It was not an actual meet and greet. Weird Al saw the security guy escorting me and said, "Oh good, you found her." I started to think I was in trouble for something again, but as it turns out, he just wanted to know if he'd met me before. I told him yes and asked why. He recognized my voice on the microphone! I told him when and where and his one guitar player remembered that night too! I was nothing less than astonished! So we took a quick pic together on my camera and a camera that one of his people had then parted ways. I don't know if the pic was ever published anywhere since this was just before the dawn of social media and cameras on cell phones were still crappy. He's still my favorite celeb ever! I'd rate him a million out of 10 for sure! I know this is long, so I'll keep the last as brief as possible. I was pulled on stage at a Black-Eyed Peas show. Met the whole group and got to hang out with them after the show. They were all very chill and Fergie was super nice and sweet! 20/10 would hang again! TL;DR: Weird Al is the most awesome celeb on the planet! BEP were amazing! :)

My dad played “I’m fat” on the radio when we where kids and it was our first time seeing him so ecstatic singing a new song (he only played older songs from the 50s and 60s). Me and my siblings would sing to the BYPs and some of there songs continue to speak to me. So glad you have some amazing experiences!!

Hey there! I just saw Weird Al live in Paris a couple months ago and I was FLOORED, this guy has an amazing voice, or rather many amazing voices, and he & his band are such PRO musicians. Late to the party here but I thought I could share a little Will Ferrel story. I was a barista some years back at a Peet's Coffee in a small town in Massachusetts where Will Ferrell wife's parents live (his in-laws) Will and his wife and kids, would usually visit around the holidays. Anyways, I got to take his order and make his drink many times through the years. He was always very polite and very unassuming. I had heard that he is not fond of giving autographs/selfies while out and about. After growing a rapport with him and his wonderful wife and kids (his wife is super friendly!!!) I gained the courage to ask for an autograph. I did it stealthily, I delivered his drink (extra dry cappuccino 2% milk) to him at his table, something we did for him instead of the normal yelling out the name of the customer to come pick it up. As I delivered his drink I quietly asked him if he wouldn't mind signing a Peet's to-go cup for me. Without hesitation he smiled and said "absolutely" I told him that I was a big fan of his (which I am) and he thanked me and then said that I was his favorite barista of all the places he orders that drink and that he always looked forward to coming to our coffee shop when in the area. Pretty cool to hear from a celeb, especially one you enjoy! Thought I would share since you mentioned Will Ferrell in the video. I do think he gets a bit of a bad rep because people expect Step-Brothers Will Ferrell when they see him in the wild. But he really is just a humble quiet family man when away from Hollywood.

The nicest celebrity I have ever met is Pam Ferris. Most of you probably know her as Agatha Trunchbull from Matilda. She couldn’t have been more different from that character. I met her at a function that I was involved in for carers, (caregivers). She was the celebrity guest. I am not someone to approach celebrities without reason. It’s just not my style. Not judging anyone who does. Everyone was kind of being fan like, and she was very kind to them all. I spoke to her about the function, and being a carer, which is something she is actually very passionate about. Anyway we got on like a house on fire. She gave me several hugs and said that she loved me to everyone. She was so very sweet. I even ended up on the front cover of Careline magazine, with her hugging me in the picture. I cannot overstate, how lovely she was. 100/10.

The reasons I would consider a celebrity rude are along the same line that I would consider anyone else. I understand the workers in retail, restaurants, events etc if the celebrity is acting entitled or being cheap, but some of these fans have way too high of expectations that a person has to be “on” all the time. I can’t imagine having to be 100% pleasant to every single person I meet in every single scenario, sometimes people just want to be left alone

I think we need to remember they're human beings and don't always want to be hounded for photos and stuff, but at the same time, even if they're not in the mood to go above and beyond to make a fans day, they should still be civil and polite. I was training to be a tour guide at Universal Studios in the late 80s. The rule was if you saw a celebrity on the lot during the tour, point them out. They may not come over, but it is nice for people on the tour bus. Well I was doing my tour that would determine if I was going to be hired as a guide after my training when I spotted Kim Cattrall, I was excited as she was the first celebrity that I had spotted on the lot, so I pointed her out to the tour. She stopped in her tracks and came over screaming at me that she did not want to be recognised on the Backlot and who the F did I think I was? Really shouting and swearing at me, she then came over and took my Mike and started berating me for being an idiot. I was so taken aback I started crying, so she proceeded to mock me. I decided if that was the treatment I could expect, I didn't want to work there, so never even pursued getting the job. I cannot to this day look at her.
