Story 1: He isn't obligated to donate anything to anybody. They hired a PI to find him. That costs time and money. They could just use that effort to wait and get a regular donor instead. OP's right, they wanted to know where he is so they could use him as a free meal ticket. Good on OP and his real family for standing up to them. Wow, the comments on the first story are crazy. NTA and he's under no obligation to do anything. Regardless of the "giving him life". Yes, he would be the hero if he did but he's not the ahole for saying no, especially since the tracked him down and harrassed him. They literally just wanted his bone marrow, not him. I question the validity of Story 1. The ideal [bone marrow] donor is typically an histocompatible-matched relative, most often a sibling, rather than the child of a parent with leukemia.
