FOMO. Selfishness. If she were to look at it again, she would realize her friend who was single and sleeping around died alone. Where OP would have died surrounded by loved ones. It's not just cheating, she was neglectful, cruel, etc. choices have consequences. Sadly this is the fallacy of happy wife happy life. Nothing wrong with a wife being happy or a husband being good to her. The problem is putting one person's happiness above others especially at the expense of others happiness. She took the logical conclusion of that mantra and believed it made her happy and everyone else should accept her neglect and abuse because she was happy with her affair and the abuse she shoved out on those who loved her. Also she made it harder for the divorce. She lost her income which likely means more strain on the poor husband in the divorce.

Divorce after 40 is a death sentence. Women consider you damaged. Those available are available for a reason. That's why the joke of the crossroads decision exists; stepdaddy or hookers and blow. It's a crazy existential realization that you might've had sex for the last time. After 5 years without, you're done. A good man has love within, like sugar. It's masculine to want to share that nurture. When it sits too long, it ferments.

Since narcissists bastards say it was, I guess. There’s also the type of people who literally thinks stuff in romance drama/book actually happens in real life. I don’t know why but I actually remember quite a few times where I read stories where the main character’s spouse cheated on the MC and then after a horrible break up and the MC changing quite a lot, the MC still end up together with the cheating spouse cause apparently they “learned” a lesson.

So, for those who are wondering what has happened with the Story 1 OP after the last update. He is living with the STBXW (wife), SIL, and the kids. The divorce was put on hold after something came to light. What the something was we don't know because the OP didn't tell us. But what we do know is that it resulted in an investigation and a lawsuit. Everyone is in therapy and is healing, time will tell what happens with his marriage. Though, one thing to note is that OP describes his situation as unique. He and Monica didn't work out because he found her to be very, VERY shallow and not the type of woman he wanted in his life.

She made that mistake, she warned OP to NOT make that mistake, warned her against what she was doing and OP ignored that warning, and now somehow thinks she can fix what she broke. And thinking his anger is a phase that will blow over? Really? How dense is this OP? When I asked her what she would do if in the future she got back with the bf and found out her kid wants to cheat on his/her partner. I liked how this one showed both sides of the story. I looked at the usernames on Reddit and unfortunately, the husband may have taken the wife back. At the very least the divorce was put on hold. Monica turned out to be too shallow for hubby. But there haven't been any posts or comments from either of them in three years.

S1: Somehow OP didn't manage to say anything to her husband about any of this until after. Amazing how that always works out. After everything is destroyed by the cheaters own selfish actions, then, "*We* need to fix it." Always the same lies, always the same pain.

What a narcissist she cheats blames anyone else even a dead friend, thinks husband is the selfish one he is not, claims he is unloving for ditching her cheating ass, she isn’t owed a damned second chance, not one bit.

Also her husband never had a wife that actually loved him, appreciated him, respected him. She is still heavily lieing to herself. She wouldnt take anyone's pain. She wants to kid herself and other in desperate bit to not have thrown everything away and have her kids and soon to be x husband aware of her true colors.

She cheated and so...She F'd herself out of being married. If i was the guy she was married to and my wife cheated on me... I to would have thrown her to the streets! I simple deserve better!! And with this in mind she does not deserve a husband when she clearly have problems being a good wife! (And offering her man open relationship on his end... Thats not being a good wife... Thats just wanting a open relationship... And yes we all know there will be some time gone before she start cheating again and when that happens... She will have reached her goal... Getting a open relationship with the twist that she still cheat on him while he gets do be open about being in a open relationship)... Not worth it imo! Its actually a insult to him

Sometimes I struggle to believe these stories are real. They just sound too absurd and too self aware to not be some troll or writing experiment lol. Not saying such things don’t happen, but the people who do this either never share it or are too conceited to admit to being wrong.

@@HeliosX28 You literally quoted an inherently misogynistic saying, and never clarified that you only meant that it applies to THIS story, even though the saying you quoted is a general statement. I said that you were misogynistic, because it’s a fair assumption to make, especially with how rampant misogyny is these days, and how many men say these types of things and apply it to all women. There is absolutely no projecting going on here 💀
