Exactly the type of video I needed, I'm 20, living with a man twice my age, I don't work and I expect everything handed to me.. it's a vicious cycle of disappointment, anger, self-pity and powerlessness. I need to do something.
@nancyc59227 жыл бұрын
M why would you expect everything handed to you?? I am a housewife and mother to 15 year old, I do all the cleaning, all the cooking, drive daughter to school and back also husband to work and back because there are no school busses in the area we moved,,,this leads to about 6 hours of driving per day with having to do everything else, heck it is plintless for me to work,,,,,extra vehicle, extra insurance, extra gas, how would my child get home from school? jeez, the money I make would go directly to the extra expenses instead of in our account!! ,,,,,what would you expect if you were me?

I was recently feeling powerless and incapable of changing my life’s circumstances. Almost like every action is too hard to take, like I won’t be able to succeed as a result, like everything is too hard. One of the answers I received from myself as to why I was being passive and choosing to hold on to my entitlement was a fear and feeling of powerlessness that would come as a result of letting go of such behaviour. Almost as if I would swing all the way to the other end of the spectrum and become entirely dependent on others in deciding whether I am a worthy human, whether I am good enough, and that would dictate all my actions - to have other people’s validation as means to feel empowered. Most likely I was opting to keeping the entitled attitude to have at least some power over other humans, almost rebelling against their power. Kind of - better broke, alone, and powerless than powerful, but dependent on other people’s opinions. Looks like I gotta really look into properly motivating myself through showing that my actions DO bring positive results, that I DO have the power to change my circumstances. And that I can be powerful, through cultivating it within. Giving it to myself. Good luck everybody on this path, hope this helps you in some way.

This is CRAZY how I randomly found this video!! I've been hissying all day about my older brother who refuses to do ANYTHING major for himself. I declared earlier that "if he could, he'd take my brains & drop them into his own head." He has a false sense of entitlement--he feels that women should do everything for him while he spends his leisure time going to the gym, bike-riding, going on dates, socializing, taking, daily naps etc., while (since I'm a woman), I should be stuck here doing his work & mine too & not even get a break to take a bath or shower!
@nbextremebotting7 жыл бұрын
The reason I feel entitled is because 1. I believe I've been emotionally/socially misshapen by society's failure to address my past 2. I feel so void inside that if I did not get support for free, life would be even more miserable and I might take my life. And all this even though I'm physically perfectly capable, and intellectually as well. If someone can untangle my emotional knot so I can stop feeling so negative and feel alive, I'd work my ass off to not need those supports.

@6:33 oh girl. I’ve had all issues w this most of my life but never had the right language to truly describe it or tools to dismantle the relationships it exists so prominently in!!! I am the first type. Before seeing this video, I spoke up to the person who has been (the second type) basically using me and others, is very self absorbed, seeks out others only if they will benefit them or satisfy a need/desire. They seem totally clueless about the meaning and value of reciprocity in life in general but totally miss it in relationships. It’s been maddening and painful. So I clearly and strongly put an end to this particular “transactional” energy between them and I, after over 10 years of operating (badly) in it. This felt very liberating and courageous for me. As the Universe would have it, i was going through your videos and saving a few to watch later and decided to watch this one tonight, right now. It’s absolutely in synch with what I’ve been vibing and you as well as this magickal place we live and play in, never cease to amaze me! THANK YOU! You one of my my soul sisters I already feel that. ♾ 🌙🔮 🌬💫

Take in from a former narcissist (I didn't know it at the time): Find self love! Before I found it I was looking for ways to prove that I was a worth while person. It led to every selfish act. I hated myself, but I needed to feel special. I thought if I did this amazing thing I would finally have a reason to love myself. I thought that if people did things for me it was was evidence that I was the wonderful person and then I could feel good about myself. I had no clue I was like this. Funny thing is is that I would become the codependent around other narcissists because I thought that by being their friend I was somehow proving that I was this special person because I was friends with all these "cool" people. Bottom line: being a narcissist is exhausting. Best thing you can do is decide that you are good enough for your own love regardless if you are special.

Hi thanks for sharing your thoughts! I was confused before I watched this video of yours. I was manipulated a lot of times to get things from me, Spend some time etc. I felt the need to give even I don't want because I don't want to hurt feelings. The 3:27 part is true. I am afraid to be accused of being selfish. Saying no if you don't feel like doing it is a relief. I don't want to please people all the time anymore. It's time for me to choose my happiness 😘 P. S. :This person's childhood was somewhat deprived so maybe he/she is feeling entitled to have what he/she didn't have- that explains demmands of getting gifts, eating out on fancy restaurants, seeks attention etc.

From my perspective, these various complex are not the focus of resolving our issues. We have a trauma happen to us and we amplify it by X10 X100 or whatever, but the way we deal with it either by running away by trying to distance ourselves from the pain or by covering up and end up with a smear of what we perceive as a trigger. Identifying the distinction between the unique self and others gives us the ability to perceive the collective; It's the possibility of the unknown that is the question of asking the question what is the meaning of it all (The contrast of what is). I believe a void is necessary much like the lens of our eyes or a black hole, but from outside in exactly like the universe but the objective is not put focus on the void but having an acute awareness of its presence. That's how I got out of the fantasy of spirituality and started taking action to live my life and better yet understand each human is a distinct universe unto themselves.

I think I know what this is addressing... -.- Aptly put. I had a conversation yesterday evening with a couple my boyfriend is friends with, we were visiting their new home for the first time. We asked why they had a security system and they mentioned some shady neighbors, one family lives off of the government, belittles and yells cursewords at their children all of the time, and every time they are in the backyard and those neighbors are out there they loudly talk about how much they hate that our friends replaced their old, dilapidated fence with a new fence. I asked why they felt that those neighbors acted that way about their fence--are they trying to break in? I was really impressed with his response: He responded that they were jealous and felt like they never could improve or have the nice things that they have, so they became hateful. Ties with this video pretty well.

I have to say the week leading up new years and the first week of have been a bam in terms of "entitlement". In my case anyways, things not happening in the way at least I imagined them. It didn't feel so much like something I felt I deserved being taken away, although I did for one moment feel a bit hurt, even that then spiraled around and turned into another surprising, but this time, more positive change! Just, things not going as I thought/imagined they would. I'm trying to handle it all as one big adventure it's been so hectic and full of change. Also wanted to add, I loved your perspective on how manipulative people see intentional communities as feeding grounds. I also came to this conclusion a few months ago in hindsight of an unhealthy realtionship. I didn't see how bad it was until afterwards and connected the dots. It became clear he went into the festival/hippie community for the very reason he felt like they're people who are easy to take advantage of. He gets away with it pretending to be like them. It's something I wish I saw sooner and can now understand how deeply important these types are to be vigilant and aware of. It feels as if they're energy vampires, just sucking away at your soul.

You seem fundementally mistaken regarding the necessity for a divide between the spiritualists and the physicilaists. Sometimes the "you" aspect of the person does not want to work not because of "entitlement", but because that's the process of protecting the world through his "suffering"...I've been trying to make money for years and have failed time and time again. The problem is the system and I'm here to change it....if you think the system isn't broken and this capatalism thing needs to continue, then you're far behind and living in the past - nor are you looking at the future 😡 And I challenge your "abilities"
