How can you not have dresses with sleeves? Not everyone wants to be typical and on trend.

For plus size especially but also with straight sizes, sleeves will limit who can put on the dress...they have fabric swatches to show what sleeves may look like when you try on the dress

I miss wedding dresses from decades past with sleeves! They were so pretty n the sleeves gave dresses that something extra n looked so elegant without looking overdone 🙂🙂 Also the " average " woman wears size 16 or larger I'm sad that wedding dress designers haven't started designing for ALL sizes, small, tall, large full figured, tiny figured n everything in between ❤ Every bride deserves to look amazing on her wedding day ❤

I agree. I got married in 1980 and had what was called “flutter” sleeves that covered the very top of the arm and shoulder and it was just enough. Now that I’m 64 I would never wear a strapless dress. Nature is not kind to women’s upper arms 😳

In 1988, huge sleeves were all the rage, and some brides had puffed sleeves as big or bigger than their heads! I was thankful to find a gown with Juliette sleeves which meant the puffiness was off the shoulder. Whenever I watch these shows and the bride has an opinionated entourage, I cringe. My mom was the only person I wanted shopping with me for a wedding gown. Entourages always seem to be looking for "what I want," and have little regard for their friend The Bride. Who will be wearing the gown. So she should be getting what she wants. I say leave the entourage at home.
@cyflym112 жыл бұрын
What gets me is when the bride finds a dress she loves and then someone in the entourage says "oh but it's not the look she's going for". Firstly how do they know, and secondly is she not allowed to change her mind?

I have never understood - and I never will understand - a bride's (or entourage member's) desire for the dress to be "unique." Isn't is more important that it is right for each individual bride and gives her "the feeling"? Who cares if every bride in the salon for an entire month chooses the same gown? (And they are not attending the others' weddings, so a moot point!)
@okie39242 жыл бұрын
People are the same with baby names "I want something super unique" well you better be thinking about what is a nice name, not what is unique. There are a lot of nice things that are popular maybe "overdone" for a reason cause they work lol
@ΠαρασκευηΚωστελιδου2 жыл бұрын
When I looked for my dress I had only one rule since I was open minded to try all styles. I didn't want any other bride to wear the same dress! I chose one which I was the first one to wear! In my country and the shop I went didn't try samples but the actual dress! I went for shopping 3 months before my wedding so I also find it strange when they look for a dress even 1,5 year before the ceremony!!
@ellasmommy92782 жыл бұрын
One dress and two brides. They should do that more often. I wasn't completely sold on the dress that the first bride picked. I think there could have been something a lot prettier. But the second woman, wow that dress was made for her

It was funny though when the first bride was saying "oh it's so different and out of the ordinary" and then the second bride got the same one. Luckily she didn't know and felt special for her wedding but it makes you wonder how many people leave the shop feeling they've made a daring choice not realising that they are actually dressing the same as every other bride!
@CandraJade842 жыл бұрын
I always cringe when either the fiancé(e) or a parent of the bride has a specific vision which kind of dress the bride should get, especially when the bride wants something totally different. @@melrobertson2743 Um that added cost is not universal to all brides & if you make money off plus size dresses and fashion then work with the clients who pay the money also going out of your way to hire third party for alterations run hundreds of dollars & not all shops just do it on site. @@melrobertson2743 Also, some people have to see it. They can't envision it. And a tacked on sleeve is going to be different with one added as an afterthought.
