I’m glad that the conversation around plus size brides has begun to change in the 10+ years since this episode aired. At the very end, the bride says something that broke my heart: “I don’t feel like a plus size bride in my gown, I feel like a beautiful woman.” It shouldn't have to be - and it isn’t - an either/or situation. Plus size women are beautiful brides. On a different note, I’m thrilled these stores have since begun to hold more plus size sample gowns in stores, too.

I can't get over the huge style difference between the US and UK versions of SYTTD . The US goes in for draped satin, the UK for much softer fabrics. I much preferred dress 2, which I thought really suited and flattered her.

Most of the USA episodes are older. The softer fabrics you see in the UK are a little more fashionable in the USA now. But those drapey ruched satin looks were very popular in like 2011.

i feel like the dress she picked wasn't great for her shape, but i'd bet anything that in her size and perhaps with a corset back instead of a zip, she'll be an absolute knockout. always always always go corset back when you're plus-size, it gives you more leeway for minor weight fluctuations and can really pull you in and give you a bangin' shape.

I'm so disappointed in klienfelds, their entire plus size selection is very outdated and so unflattering to the brides compared to what they put average size women in. It feels like a lackluster attempt to seem inclusive, and honestly just breaks my heart for these poor women. I hope they get a discount on these shabby dresses. 😤 I'm glad the bride was happy, don't get me wrong, it just irks me that all the dresses were the style that was in for normal size ladies 10 years ago. 🤷‍♀️
