This video was extremely insightful and you put into words what i've been doing subconsciously for the past year since i've started to focus on self improvement. One thing I will work on is stop reading the yt comments and formulate my own opinion on the content before others' opinions skew my analysis!! starting with this one.

Great topic! This is the most important issue for my fellow ENTPs (aside from our blindspot Fi), because we fear control. Therefore, we should learn to control (or focus) ourselves, so that the world doesn't randomly control us by default. And it's also helpful to study successful ENTPs, like Benjamin Franklin, who have willingly embraced methods for establishing routines and structure (repressed Si) to facilitate their otherwise chaotic ingenuity. Thanks for the video!

Yup yup! Modeling is so important. I’ve been trying to get better at it lately. Fun fact: I took pictures with the actor that played Ben Franklin in his costume in a movie called How High. Life is weird. Wish I could post a picture here.

I feel like the best for me when it comes to routine is that i have a goal that i need to achieve but be allowed to complete it any way i want. as long as i get there who cares how it was done. so i feel like i'm getting more efficient or trying to find efficient ways to do said task.

As an ENTP with ADHD and the solutions for the ADHD being incredibly helpful, I'd encourage you to at least try those. The most important one by far (at least for me) was to stop assuming I function the same way society makes us think people are "supposed" to function. Is it really you who thinks you have to do this or achieve that in this time frame, or is it someone else's thought you internalised, because you were told one too many times that the way you do stuff and think isn't "good enough". Don't expect from yourself to remember minute details, that aren't important for the big picture on an abstract level. Instead, take notes, put post it's everywhere if your really have to remember something. Get a time timer (a visual clock). Set boundaries (For example, don't react to any requests or messages before you have to leave the house for as much time as you need to, to be in time.). Create an environment that suits your brain (For example, I wear headphones while doing chores, because every interruption will add unreasonably to the time I need to finish this annoying task. I also put post it's with things to remember on the bathroom mirror, because I know I'll look at that at some point inevitably. I also negotiated "rules" with my boyfriend and family on some subjects. Like the one about not asking me for anything 30 minutes before I have to leave the house. I don't rely on my brain to filter out the nonsense and remind me of important things. And that's as useful to ENTPs as it's for people with ADHD.

ENTPs need to realise the freedoms offered by making decisions as well as the freedoms offered by deferring them. Committing to a course of action almost always results in more possibilities. Similarly maintaining open options can be It's own kind of prison. Tim Urban (Entp) has a good TED talk on procrastination that should be compulsory viewing for ENTPs.

ENTP female here. That question #3 though. I sway so much between all the what ifs that, even after making lists upon lists with pro's and con's they are just left there. With no decision made at all. Or IF I make a decision, I'll be like, eeeh maybe it's the wrong decision, two days later. At that point I'll go ask everybody. In some cases, if you ask 10 people they'll give you 10 different answers (of which more often than not, I've already thought of), but that just adds another layer of possibilities and makes the decision difficult... When I do manage to follow through my decisions (even those that are just base purely on intuition with no debate), they are almost always the correct one. In a country where valuing everyone else's opinion is more important than going your own way - which can be completely opposite than what people think are the "right" thing to do, well.. you can imagine how I've felt out of place my entire life in a way that never made sense until I discovered MBTI😅

Despite the fact that I searched specifically for ENTP focussing problems, I have a hard time focussing on this at the moment. But, not dropping every idea, but instead thinking more about it, was my personal outcome of self reflection. Only problem is, sometimes it is just a timebomb haha...

Dunno if that's how you're supposed to use Fe as an ENTP, but in my case, I often ask for other people's opinion/advice as a last resort when I can't come up with a valuable solution with logic and ideas alone. And once I'm satisfied with the amount of people I asked, I clear up the data I got, have a look at everything, take what's relevant and let go of what isn't (or put it aside in case I need it later on in the process). I love the last part where you talk about how to stop acting like healers because of the loss of focus. Whenever somebody has a problem, especially close friends and relatives, I'm always the first they go to for help and I have a hard time saying no to an opportunity for problem-solving... but because of that, I often put things on the table for way too long and lack the motivation to resume my projects afterwards because I know my focus is fragile and I don't know when it's going to be disrupted again... My ISFJ gets super energized by helping people out; I feel that, if I was an RPG character, my HP bar would be flashing red -___-

Very helpful and truly thought video, I didn't expect it to go the road it went...it's about ENTPs being self aware of themselves, doing that we can actually become more balanced. 'I'm just Gna wing it' that's what i always say ahahaha! But seriously this is so very true. Ti is such a perfectionist and is sort of a party downer for the Ne - Fe. Thank you so much for this video. I watched it a while ago but it's so relevant in my life right now 🙈 it's so hard to stand your ground and stick to what you know you need to do, especially when you know it's going to upset some people you care about. I guess at the end of the day you have to live with yourself and if you don't listen to that Ti you will end up resenting the people who you allowed to make the decision for you, as well as loathe yourself for not having been stronger to make that decision on your own. This hit me deep. Total wake up call. ♥️💯

this was very helpful, thank you! For a long time I thought I was an introvert, first assumed INFP, but I'm becoming more and more certain about ENTP. Funny thing is that what I don't do is using my Ti (and obviously I don't even find my Si :D ). You're so right. I have a great intuition, and then I ask a bunch of people, confuse myself on what to do, and if I don't chose right, then I'm not even sure who to blame :D obviously myself. Usually what I do, ask people about their opinion, and then pay attention if I agree with them. I even start to bring up arguments against whatever they say to see if that opinion they're saying makes sense and really convinces me.
