The second interview actually opens with two great examples of warning signs to not take a job: 22:46 "We will expect you to do more work that we are willing to pay you for" 24:24 "We want you to take responsibility for problems, but will not support you when you do"

Wouldnt an "impact player" rather be self employed? The more competent someone is the less it seems they would like to be an employee... ?

This is exactly the point. Your brightest stars are your most likely to leave you to start their own thing, unless you are willing to pay them more than they are worth.

To a degree this is true but not everybody is built to be an entrepreneur or business owner. Some people just like consistency of being an employee and not worry about the headache and stress that comes along with operating the business

For example, Michael Jordan awesome basketball player. Very competitive but he's an asshole and wouldn't make a good coach and has not been entirely successful owning two NBA franchises

@@James-yi1vk , correct, business man, i agree. I'm pointing out, that just because he the greatest basket ball player, that doesn't mean that he would make the best coach, GM, OWNER, ETC. some talent are just better suited elsewhere. I know plenty of great mechanics that wouldn't or can't operate their own shops, the would prefer to just fix cars and not deal with the stress of owning a business, that's all.
