Entroncamento: Uma visita no Museu Nacional Ferroviário

O Entroncamento é uma cidade portuguesa relativamente jovem que fica bem central no país e que emergiu de um assentamento ferroviário no final do século XIX. Foi muito importante porque duas linhas ferroviárias, a Linha do Norte e a Linha do Leste juntaram-se aqui. Também alberga a única estação de manobra portuguesa e a oficina ferroviária central. Em maio de 2015, o Museu Nacional da Ferroviária abriu no Entroncamento, e desde então tornou-se algo como uma Fátima para os entusiastas ferroviários de todo o mundo e oferece ao visitante uma maravilhosa coleção de locomotivas a vapor, vagões, automotoras e outras locomotivas da CP, entre eles o Comboio Real do ano 1862, composto pela locomotiva D. Luiz, o Salão D. Maria Pia e o Salão do Príncipe.
The relatively young Portuguese town Entroncamento (translated literally: 'Junction') in the centre of the country emerged from a railway settlement in the late 19th century. It was important because two railway lines, the Linha do Norte (Northern Line) and the Linha do Leste (Eastern Line) joined here. It also houses the only Portuguese marshalling yard and the central railway workshop. In May 2015 the National Railway Museum opened in Entroncamento, and since then it has become something like the Fátima to railway enthusiasts all over the world and offers the visitor a marvellous collection of steam locomotives, waggons, railcars and other locomotives of the CP, among them the Combio Real (Royal Train) of 1862, consisting of the locomotive D. Luiz and the parlour cars D. Maria Pia and Salão do Príncipe (the Prince' parlour car).
Die relativ junge portugiesische Stadt Entroncamento (wörtlich übersetzt: 'Anschlussstelle') im Zentrum des Landes entstand Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts aus einer Eisenbahnsiedlung. Sie war bedeutsam, weil zwei Eisenbahnlinien, die Linha do Norte (Nordlinie) und die Linha do Leste (Ostlinie), hier zusammentrafen. Die Stadt beherbergt auch den einzigen portugiesischen Rangierbahnhof und das zentrale Ausbesserungswerk. Im Mai 2015 wurde das Nationale Eisenbahnmuseum in Entroncamento eröffnet, und seitdem ist es so etwas wie ein Fátima für Eisenbahnfreunde auf der ganzen Welt geworden und offeriert dem Besucher eine wunderbare Sammlung von Dampflokomotiven, Waggons, Triebwagen und anderen Lokomotiven der CP, darunter auch der Comboio Real (Königliche Zug) aus dem Jahr 1862, bestehend aus der Lokomotive D. Luiz und den Salonwagen D. Maria Pia und Salão do Príncipe (Salonwagen des Prinzen).
La ciudad relativamente joven Entroncamento (literalmente: 'Enlace') en el centro de Portugal surgió de un asentamiento ferroviario a fines del siglo XIX. Era importante porque dos líneas ferroviarias, la Linha do Norte (Línea del Norte) y la Linha do Leste (Línea del Este) se unieron aquí. También alberga la única estación de maniobras portuguesa y el taller de reparación central. En mayo de 2015 se inauguró el Museo Nacional del Ferrocarril en Entroncamento, y desde entonces se ha convertido en una Fátima para entusiastas ferroviarios de todo el mundo y ofrece al visitante una maravillosa colección de locomotoras a vapor, vagones, automotores y otras locomotoras del CP, entre ellos el Comboio Real (Tren Real) del año 1862 que consiste en la locomotora D. Luiz y los coches-salón D. Maria Pia y Salão do Príncipe (el coche-salón del Príncipe).
La ville portugaise relativement jeune Entroncamento (traduit littéralement: «Jonction») dans le centre du pays a émergé d'une colonie de chemin de fer à la fin du 19ème siècle. C'était important parce que deux lignes de chemin de fer, la Linha do Norte (Ligne Nord) et la Linha do Leste (Ligne Est) se sont jointes ici. Il abrite également la seule gare de triage portugaise et l'atelier ferroviaire de réparation central. En mai 2015, le Musée national du chemin de fer a ouvert ses portes à Entroncamento. Depuis, il est devenu une Fátima pour les passionnés de chemin de fer du monde entier. Il offre au visiteur une merveilleuse collection de locomotives, wagons, autorails et des autres locomotives de l'entreprise ferroviare portugaise CP, entre eux le Comboio Real (le train royal) de l'année 1862, composé de la locomotive D. Luiz et des voitures de salon D. Maria Pia et Salão do Príncipe.

Thank you! No, I wouldn't say so, but a month ago I met a pilgrim from Arizona and I learnt that the perception of distances vary from the place where one lives: When I said that I had pilgrim friends from the Netherlands and Italy, she said that would be very close, her pilgrims friends live in Australia or Europe, and that would be VERY far from the U.S. :-) Entroncamento is about one hour by train from Lisbon, and Lisbon is about three hours by plane from the closest airport, but by car I would need to drive more than two days to get there and cross five different countries... (okay, I wouldn't have to cross Germany because the place where I live is already quite close to the border.) :-D
