What they don't understand is that by blocking traffic and let's say there's a medical emergency and as a result of the protest that person dies, they can be arrested and charged with it. At least in my state

Some of the people blocking traffic don't care if their actions result in interference in a medical emergency or death. I know of one instance where a husband was taking his pregnant wife who was ready to deliver their baby and the protesters refuse to move, many people got out of their cars and with the help of pedestrians cleared a path for the couple to get to the hospital.

The thing US and UK people do not fucking understand is that when you block traffic to protest you're supposed to let ambulances go through, both drivers and protestors. This shit's never been a problem in the rest of the first world

Story 1: Man, the revenge on Mr. Entitled/Hypocrite the traffic blocker was nothing short of epic and hilarious. That guy was a colossal jerk and seemed to be disliked by everybody around him. It really sucks that other neighbours got a warning for the putting the dumpster there, but if i were the police, i would've let all of that slide, and maybe charge Mr Entitled for wasting police time. Good thing that moron finally moved away after all of this. No big loss there. Story 2: I have a simple solution here for the OP... limit or cut contact with the parents here. They are pretty bad parents/people. The OP isn't going to do any better with them around and are always going to be this way until you finally stand up to them. File a restraining order against them if needbe too. They are nothing short of toxic. Story 3: First off, i give condolences for the MIL and FIL, that's sad. Now, as for John, he is among the biggest and worst jerks that i've heard of on this channel. I would've thrown him out and probably kicked his ass the moment he started talking at the funeral and eulogy and exposed him for the piece of garbage that he was to the OP's MIL. I honestly don't understand how nobody in the family got violent here... i know if that happened to a member of my family, both immediate and extended, crap would hit the fan and fly everywhere if someone pulled a stunt like this. Story 4: OP isnt even remotely a jerk here. Here is a classic case of both "you reap what you sow" and "what goes around comes around". The sister, Anna, didnt deserve to have anybody show up at her graduation, especially after her mean comments and subsequent treatment of the OP. Looks like Anna may have matured a little bit after that, but she's still the jerk, not the OP.

Even worse, by blocking traffic they increase the air pollution. I'm pretty much an ecologist myself (I'm careful with my purchase, don't use my car if I can, etc). But I would never do that kind of stupid things. Blocking traffic doesn't help to convince anyone. It is only useful when a large majority of the population agree with the cause defended by it and when it is a marge organized movement (like when we protested against the increase of retirement minimum age last year in France). Doing it on a smaller scale in a regular basis only have one result : getting people to hate you and the cause you defend.

The traffic blocker story reminds me of the really big one in Australia that happened some time last year. They basically shut down downtown for 4 hours or something by sitting in the middle of an important intersection to promote something.

Story #1-The person who blocked traffic is virtue signaling. He is looking for attention. It has nothing to do with the cause he says he supports and everything to do with attention. There are productive and effective ways to support a cause. Stopping traffic or other things along those lines does nothing to help the cause. It usually hurts it. Physically blocking anyone is also a form of assault. I don't know why police don't arrest and prosecute people like this more often.

Story 1: you are the jerk, the first amendment gives protester the right to bloc traffic, you in contrast can get in trouble for harassment. Next you see people experiencing their first amendment rights just let it be, don't get revenge and if you really hate the first amendment go to Russia and China. The police department can also be sued for being neglectful... like this is why I hate Americans... like they hate freedom so much, what was the guy going to do? Go after everyone in group? Story 1 is just harassment.
@diamondjim7560
@diamondjim7560 Жыл бұрын
And you know nothing. First, this occurred in the UK not the US. There is no First Amendment in the UK. That is in the American Constitution. Second, no, the First Amendment does not protect you from violating the law. In the US, blocking traffic would be against the law. Legal protests on roadways require a permit, which means approval from the governing body. Stand on a street corner and shout out your speech to your hearts content, but your rights stop when they impinge upon the rights of others.

Honestly, most climate activists are terrible people. Don't get me wrong, there are quite a few who protest quietly & don't make much of a fuss about it, but then you have people who intentionally make people's lives miserable. There have been several stories about this. There's one where a man was late to a court hearing because of these activists & he was sent to jail. Another was a man's classic car being vandalized & had to spend thousands of dollars to get repairs. There are countless more stories about what they've done & it's just not ok. I honestly feel bad for the activists who don't do any of this bs & quietly protest because the people who protest by annoying society probably makes them look bad even though they've never done anything.
@loganthomas3575

Plus what these protesters don’t realise, that sitting on a road and blocking the traffic actually causes more CO2 into the environment, so how does that help the environment in any sort of way? it doesn’t. They are just attention seekers trying to be on television and actually unfortunately they did block an ambulance and unfortunately the patient in the ambulance died from cardiac arrest because he couldn’t get to the hospital on time. So these protesters have blood on their hands.

To all protesters out there! Why block the road? There are people who needs to go to work or have other things to do. Though I wasn't involved in a same incident though know it as at work in the same highway were it happened and have to get out of the workplace as due to a fire breaking out nearby there have been people who have died because of those environmental "activist" stubborn idoits blocking the road, as there was a fire incident somewhere in that highway. Even when a fire truck infront of them as they are blocking the road requesting them to move out of the but those protester idoits say it's was just an excuse to remove off the road, they are so stubborn police had to be called just to remove them then police have arrived but didn't move as well up until they were forcibly got removed by the police and some fire fighters actually ended up spraying them water and in turn wasting precious time for the fire fighters. That was a huge issue many people got mad at that group as people actually died, many properties destroyed over for a worthless protest. Then protesters leaders got arrested and presecuted, and that particular group was never allowed to have a protest permit ever by the government so every protest that group would do will be illegal and the military will be the one that will handle them not the police anymore

story 2: The word gaslighting has become one of those buzz words thrown around too freely on the internet now, but what OP's father is doing is true gaslighting: insisting so often that the things you know to be true are lies that you start doubting your own mind. You stop being able to trust even your own thoughts because if this person is so certain then 'I must be wrong somehow'. I really hope OP can break free and have a good relationship with their boyfriend, because they sound like they're good for each other.
